Post Your Questions Here!!

 Just from my experience, I can say that many sweepstakes linger on for a few months. Also, the longer you enter sweeps, the more that you will find that your list of sweepstakes to enter daily will grow as you add to it each day. I am not sure when you started entered sweeping, but it may be possible that you may have missed the original sweepstakes postings of some sweepstakes if they were posted before you started entering. When you get time, it might be a good idea for you to go to the Sweepstakes Advantage home page and go through the list of all available current sweepstakes that appear in the center of the page and make sure you haven't missed any that you want to enter.
:) Thank you very much for your tip!

duplicate entries

If I enter the same "titled" sweep listed under two different (example) magazine entries, is this considered a duplicate entry, thereby being DQ or tossed out?

Thanks

You'd have to read the rules. Some say only the first will be accepted and the rest will be deleted. I don't believe there can be one catchall answer to this.

after my two weeks is up, I want votes for a daily contest that ends april 8th. How do I go about voting for people in the vote request forums and then effectively let them know that I did?

After voting just reply to the post telling them that you voted for them.

LOL - you beat me to it Pam!!!

I am very new to this whole sweepstakes world and as a newbie, I have a few questions. I am hoping someone can help me gain some insight. :)

First, how many sweepstakes a day does the average person enter? How many hours a day and how many days a week do you sweep? Any idea on a percentage of average success?

Also, is it anyone's experience that eventually everyone wins something? How about for the "big" wins? Does everyone eventually seem to get one of those? I have read on the winners list of some people winning multiple trips, cars, cash... I'm just wondering how likely is it that eventually most sweepers win something "big". I guess by big, I mean over $3,000 in value, (it looks like this is the dollar amount noted in the BIG win strand).

I'm just curious, I kinda stumbled on to this site when looking for a sweepstakes I heard about on TV. I know that if I do this, it should be for fun and without expectation, but I'm just curious to know what other people's experiences are.

Thank you in advance for your time!

For most people, sweeping is a hobby, not a full time job. Enter as frequently as you have the time for. While some people try to enter a set number of sweeps a day, that is based on their available time. Find a level that is comfortable for YOU, not somebody else.

As you sweep more, you'll find sites that are easier to enter the multiple sweeps they sponsor. Feel free to stick with a single sponsor to enter 'all' their sweeps quickly vs. hopping around to enter less. A place like StarPulse, Edge Provincetown, GoodReads are easy to enter all their sweeps by only having to enter in your info once. Just be sure not to sign up for newsletters when you enter quickly.

Use a tool like RoboForm to auto fill in forms. Google's toolbar AutoFill isn't bad either.

There is no set time to win something "big". However, if you don't enter, you'll never get something big.... :) If you find some people are winning ALOT, they may just have more time to enter more sweeps, or entering sweeps that less people know about/have entered, or are entering sweeps with more prizes. Just don't win my HGTV Dream House... :)

Percentage of average success is low. If you enter EVERY sweepstakes you find, you'll win, but you won't necessarily want what you win....

Not trying to discourage but everyone's availability to enter is different.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply JohnnyZ, you included some good information. I am still curious about the details of individuals experiences. I am not looking to do what anyone else does, I'm just curious as to others experiences in terms of time and effort spent on sweeping. Maybe my questions are too personal? I just do not personally know anyone who sweeps and I am intrigued. Again, thanks for your time, Sweepers!

First, keep a log of what you've won. It helps you remember how much you have won and encourages you to keep going when you think you haven't won much lately.

For me, I've cut back my time sweeping considerably but have still won 11 times this year. Nothing big, a t-shirt, some DVDs, books, Pace salsa coupons for free jars, a CD, and my 'biggest' win of the year a Leapster 2 ($60) that we're saving for a Christmas present. Last year, I won 15 times for the whole year where biggest win was $150 tickets to a show. In 2008 when I sweeped quite a bit more, I won 176 times over the course of the year. About half of the prizes were digital downloads so it wasn't as impressive a haul as it might sound, but still pulled in some good stuff, again show tix, dvds, books, pace coupons... about 10 t-shirts, cds... 2007 had 130 wins.

I've never won a trip but did win a nintendo sweepstakes DS video game system that I traded for a nice camera that I still use today... :)

Sometimes you win things you don't need, like you wanted 1st prize but got 2nd and have no use for that one... so you trade things...

It is fun waiting for the mail to see if something good comes.... as you aren't always told before things show up if you won.

To try to get a "win" under your belt quickly, checkout the list of expiring sweeps as they'll end sooner. Otherwise, if you only watch the new sweeps list, you might not win something for over a year....

How many daily entries?

Hello. I just began entering sweepstakes on a regular basis this month. I'm organized with an e-mail account just for sweepstakes as well as keeping daily and weekly entry links in separate folders on my computer.

My question (for now) is how many daily entry sweepstakes does the average member here enter every day?

Thank you to whoever created and maintains this website, it's very helpful.

I enter in the area of 800 to 1,000 per day which includes daily's, newly posted sweepstakes, etc.

For serious sweeping, you should invest in Roboform Pro (www.roboform.com). It enables you to enter far, far more than using a regular auto-fill. :)

can we come here to ask for votes in a sweepstakes??

Yes - after you've been here 2 weeks - check out this thread for more info:

When I put a check mark next to a sweepstakes I entered, then hit the Save My Sweepstakes button before going to the next page, where is that information stored?

Good question, samke23.

Are you talking about what happens after you have properly entered, clicked on Sweeps Check, and saved the sweeps?

You can find all the sweeps you have saved by going to the SA Main Page, then clicking on My Sweepstakes. You will see the sweeps you have saved listed by category.

" Why Use My Sweepstakes? : My Sweepstakes Enable You To Organize Your Favorite Sweepstakes.
Click the Add to My Sweepstakes link in the Sweepstakes Categories
to begin creating your own private sweepstakes list."

Our admin, Ken, has created a video which gets you off to a great start and may answer more questions. It is 14 minutes long. Here's the link: (There is a better link somewhere. I will post it if I can locate it.)

If you have any other questions, please ask. There is a lot of info in the forums, plus SA members are super helpful.
