Hi All,

I am new here but not to entering sweepstakes. I am finding just about every site is requiring one to sign up for newsletters, mailing lists, you name it. is m overwhelmed by the junk mail. When I used to do this years ago, I did not remember so much spam. Just comes with the territory?? Just have to deal with it, if I want to enter?

In my experience, yes. At least it's not real paper mail in the mailbox like the old days. Signing up for a newsletter isn't always required. Some allow you to uncheck the subscribe button upon entry. There are many great tips on the forums here to help you deal with the email situation.

Do you use gmail? If so, take advantage of the filter tool. See the article below; I've taken it several steps further than than but it's the only real way to organize the spam you'll get.

Very helpful, specific for sweepstakes: http://www.theneatthingsinlife.com/2012/07/how-to-set-up-google-filters/

I have an email address that I use only for sweepstakes. That way, the normal inbox that I use for work and personal things doesn't get cluttered. There are some programs that help you unsubscribe from email lists in bulk, too. I use Unroll.me
