well if thats true then I guess we cant blame obama after all. The guy the article is about, Hilmar von Campe, and his book were released last month and obviously it took some time to write the book, find a publisher, and get it published so who is he saying is responsible? Bush?

I just love fear politics. Its great. There isnt enough actual stuff to worry about so lets just make some up.

Just something to think about and you can blame many people for where we are headed. Not just one. Fear or not I think it's out there rather we try and pretend it isn't is up to the individual.

As malnutrition spreads through undeveloped countries due to the rising cost of food, that weakens the inhabitant's resistance to disease and may allow them to act as incubators for viral illnesses which increases our chances of another global pandemic such as the 1919 world flu. There, there is something to worry about :)

"Every day brings this nation closer to a Nazi-style totalitarian abyss," writes Hilmar von Campe, now a U.S. citizen, and author of "Defeating the Totalitarian Lie: A Former Hitler Youth Warns America."

Von Campe has founded the national Institute for Truth and Freedom to fight for a return to constitutional government in the U.S. – a key, he believes, to keeping America free.

"I lived the Nazi nightmare, and, as the old saying goes, 'A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument,'" writes von Campe. "Everything I write is based on my personal experience in Nazi Germany. There is nothing theoretical about my description of what happens when a nation throws God out of government and society, and Christians become religious bystanders. I don't want to see a repetition. The role of God in human society is the decisive issue for this generation. My writing is part of my life of restitution for the crimes of a godless government, of the evil of which I was a part."

I haven't read this whole thread and I have the feeling I don't want to, lol.

I applied for Americorps (Job corp was what it was back then) and I was turned down, no idea why as I was living in poverty and wanted out. :cry: I wouldn't have minded doing the community service and courses to get a good (free) education.

Anyways, I don't think this is much of a free country anymore, we lose more and more rights everyday.

I'm sorry you did not get in. My nephew went in Job Corps and really liked it. He got education and skills he would not have gotten at home. Also they had indoor plumbing. I was thinking about that because he just got his Granny running water at her house-she is 78 and never had running water or an indoor toilet. She makes grapevine wreathes and other such decorative stuff for a living.

I saved the chocolate for dessert after the pumpkin bars! :headbang:

Now, on to business. Do I need to remind the two of you that you can only talk about chocolate. Being found with chocolate, while on embargo, carries horrible consequences. Must I remind you where Sticks is?
