ok I know I am not the brightest crayon in the box but I am having a problem with the new feature of SweepsPop. I enabled the boxes, then I checked all the sweepspop boxes, then I launched the sweeppop. The only sweeps that opens is the first one the page. So I come here to read if others are having the same problem and read about enabling pop ups and something about tabs, and running out of tabs. WHAT is a tab, where do I get them, how many do I need? Do I need to enable popups for every sweeps I enter? I really feel stupid, and maybe I am, but this has me baffled. Thanks

Okay ~ I will TRY to help...someone will probably have to come in and clean up my mess though.

First ~ are you in Internet Explorer or Firefox?

Tabs is an option that you enable in IE or firefox. Once you do then you will have all that you need. When you go to one time entry sweeps (for example) ~ you would enable SweepsPop boxes ~ then go through and check the ones that you want to enter ~ then launch. All sweeps that you checked will launch at one time for you to enter.

I am hoping that someone will come in behind me and post links in IE and firefox for tabs in both, because I can't never find what I am looking for in either. I use firefox and the reason that I said that I run out, is because after I get to around 40 or so checked boxes my boxes disappear and I have to launch and enter those sweeps and then go back and enter go back through the process with the rest of the sweeps that are left.

I hope some of this made sense...

If you are using Internet explorer, all you need to do is make sure you allow popups for SA. Then, click enable, then check all sweepspop,then launch and you should have no problems.

I think it should work the same way with FF.

I am going to notify Admin so that he can clear up the instructions here for you all. I think the tabs thing is something that Ping does herself and is not necessary for Firefox.

Thank you for your question. If you look at this thread, you are not the only one with questions. Any time a new feature is introduced, there may be things we have set up on our computers that will keep the new SA feature from operating properly. It may just take some tweaking, but usually it is a quick fix. :sunny:

thanks so much wolfie and ping for your help. I went to the top of my page to "tools" put SA in my allowables for popups and now the new sweepspop works. didn't need to find any tabs or anything. I use IE and allowing popups did it for me. thanks again and merry christmas all

Thanks for this awesome feature....I've been using tabs in firefox but I still had to open them one by one. This is amazingly faster! I am lucky to have super fast internet and a great computer. My boyfriend is probably going to build me a monster of a computer this year to make my sweeping even faster. Anyways this feature is great and works quickly and easily. I also love being able to check all the sweeps check boxes quickly and easily. I had to step down my sweeping in '08 because i was finally out of college and waas working full time. This will allow me to step up my sweeping becuase it goes a lot faster!

Nice work! I think you guys deserve a cut of everyone's prizes!

We are working on this in the new sweepstakes section of the site. Look down the page closer to the list and you will see a SweepsPoP link. This is the same option just renamed and moved closer to the actual sweepstakes list rather than at the top of the page. We also added a SweepsPop help link to the menu. :)

Just when I didn't think you could make it any better! :headbang: I love the fact that we can choose which ones to open manually and which ones to pop. That way, I can hand open the flash and manual type ones, I just put a note in my personal note section that tells me to manually open certain ones. Then, I pop the rest. I actually get my dailies done and don't feel like it is a chore!

today when I click a category and then click "show my sweeps" it takes away the SweepsPop option (in it's new place) it shows up until I hit show my sweeps. It does the same thing if I go to my sweeps and then a category. Either way if it's showing the ones I use then it doesn't show that option...it's only there when i'm in the general categories.
 
I found it now...it's on the yellow bar on general then a different spot within my sweepstakes. Sorry!
 
We moved the SweepsPoP menu nearer to the listings on almost all the pages. There is a new SweepsPoP help option in the menu for a quick reference on how to use this new tool. :cheers:
 
The option of selecting the ones you want to open, and not opening others is an excellent feature. I never liked the similar function at the other sweeps site that would open them all blindly, so I never wanted to bother with it for that reason.
 
Am I missing it or is there no way to turn on sweep pops for every page so you can just check the ones you want to pop then pop them rather than having to turn it on for each page, checking then popping

There isn't an "auto-on" for SweepsPop. You just click the SweepsPop menu link and click "Enable SweepsPop boxes" for whatever page you are on. We originally didn't want it to be to easy to enable because of the nature of the application ( Popping all those windows at one time ) . For people with older compters it could potentially halt the web browser. :)
