Need help cooking rice

Mine is a black & decker but it's older and doesn't have the non stick pot inside. I think the one I got my daughter was the same but can't remember. I got it from WAL MART and paid around $20. I do rinse my rice sometimes but only to get the extra starch off. Also I cook whole wheat so I have to add more water to cook it longer but like I said I have been using a rice cooker for years and wouldn't be without one.

Great - thanks! That should help out some when shopping for one. :sunny:

Your welcome and deffinately go for the non atick. I think it would do a better job because the rice does stick some in mine. And you don't need the expensive one IMO. :)

Honestly, I could never cook rice either. I watched a cooking show and the chef said to cook it like pasta. Don't leave the lid on, cook it the pasta way-trust me, it's perfect every time! Will only work with white rice, not brown. :crazytongue:

I always screw up rice on the stove...... I bought a rice cooker a few years back and loveeee it..... . Works the best I find.... I only bought a 4 cup rice cooker and that's all we need... There's only 3 of us in the house and that just enough with left overs for fried rice the next day.... mmmmmmmm
