Need A Pep Talk

Hi There,
Sometimes this does get discouraging and I am feeling that right now. My wins the past few months have been radio wins but I haven't won from online entries or a bigger win(over $1000.00) in a while. Any suggestions or words of encouragement would be much welcomed. I did take a week off for vacation. One thing is I find myself on Facebook looking for free samples over the newsfeed, not leaving much time for entering on SA, can this be my problem? Would my wins increase if I get back to entering 200-300 entries a day, I enter about 100 a day, and getting off of FB?

THX

Actually, it sounds to me like you are doing the right thing by distracting yourself - I answer questions, vote for SA members, and help out wherever else I can to take my mind off slumps.

The most important thing though? Getting rid of negativity. I'm a firm believer in The Sweepers Credo:

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!

ALSO: Some see sweeping as a zero sum game, where if I win, you lose, but I view it a bit differently - opportunities abound for those willing to commit the time & energy, and while it doesn't give a return equal to our input, if we are consistent, persistent, and patient, the possibilities are endless!!!

Hey Jane,

I agree with everything that Amy and the Sweepstakes Credo says!!

I would focus on everything that you have won and remind yourself that you can and do win. I would also remember that it takes a long time for sponsors to notify you of your wins, so a win may be on its way.

I would also check out a freebie site where lots of freebies are posted throughout the day. I like using free stuff times. I always feel like I got a 'win' when I get a free sample in the mail.

Also, when I start entering a slump..I usually try to enter different types of sweepstakes-blog, twitter, facebook, contest and etc.

Think positive and good luck! :)

I just spent the only thing I have ever won (besides a T-shirt) at Red Robin this week. And I won that a couple of years ago. I have spent hours entering sweeps with nary a win for a couple of years now. Sometimes I do just have to walk away though as life takes more importance. But then I get mad with this new TV show coming on where people win on a daily basis. Sometimes I even wonder if it is my SA E-mail address since it appears to not be from the US. I know I did get turned down once because of that. But, they have no trouble sending me endless advertisements at that address.
