I've won some great prizes from MyCokeRewards over the years, so I know it's generally a legit contest. But in the past few months, I've experienced some troubling things dealing with them...
I was notified that I had won a small prize and told that I'd need to use a code to redeem it. (This is a real MyCokeRewards email, not a spoofed one.) It was a 20 oz. bottle of Coke Sweepstakes or something equally cheap. But when I went to the website as directed and pasted the code in, I got a message that the code had already been used and could not be redeemed again. I sent an email to MyCokeRewards to alert them to the problem. They didn't respond, so I called them. The person I spoke to couldn't or wouldn't do anything to correct the problem. They claimed that the fulfillment was handled by their "partner" and they had no control over it. Since it was only a $2 item, I didn't pursue it further.
Then it happened again -- another prize worth $3 or $4 bucks, another code, another website that claimed the code had already been used. Another stonewalling from MyCokeRewards.
And this week, it happened a third time. Same routine. Same refusal to accept responsibility (though a different "partner" this time, and the prize was worth about $5).
So now I'm beginning to wonder if, instead of a one-time glitch, this is an endemic problem. If there are hundreds of thousands of people being cheated out of their small prizes, MyCokeRewards is saving a ton of money!
Has anyone else experienced this?
