I finally figured out which contest this was -- the Chase One Good Reason Sweepstakes (the URL, which is no longer active, was https://whychaseonline.chasesweepstakes.com/submitreason.cfm).
The grand prize was $10,000, so I guess you could say I _lost_ $5,000 by only winning the First Prize of $5,000.
I talked it over with my husband and we've decided that we'll take a trip to Prague and tour the castles of the Czech Republic with most of this win. We've been wanting to go there for years.
