Magazines?

Just curious.. because I'm thinking it MUST be from sweeping, does anyone else get a ton of magazine subscriptions? I haven't gotten a bill or anything for them, but I get 6 or 7 magazines in the mail, that I never paid or signed up for. Didn't get any sort of bill for any of them either. I'd understand if I accidently signed up for one, but I doubt for all 7 or 8 of them.

Not a bad thing! haha but I get OK, Rachael Ray, Women's Health, Forbes, Entertainment Weekly, and Taste of Home and some others.

Could be some kind of ploy to get their advertising dollars up by having more "subscribers"

I don't get any magazines, but the ones you mentioned do have daily sweeps.

If you don't want to subscribe, take your time when you enter and look for the "click here" to enter without subscribing. Often, if you subscribe, you will receive an email. You can follow the instructions to access your account and cancel the subscription, or you can wait until you receive a statement in the mail and write "cancel" and send it back.

I don't think it is a ploy. It is possible that you/people subscribe when trying to enter sweeps, but if you look, the option to enter without subscribing is there.

Hmm, I guess maybe I missed it. That is a bit shady they would automatically subscribe you... I'll take a look through my e-mails. I know one of them was a "prize" but the rest I'm unsure. I don't really mind them or anything, and most of them I would pay for.

Hope you find the "click here" link when you enter in the future because it is for people who do not wish to subscribe, or are already subscribed. If you pay for all those magazines, keep in mind that the magazine sweeps say no purchase is necessary/a purchase will not increase your chance of winning. So even if you do purchase, then if you enter the following day(s), you would want to opt out anyway. :)

Along the same lines... on Saturday I received a Fresh Home magazine along with the subscription bill in the mail. I know for a fact that I did not accidentally order it. I know this because it was addressed to "Wendy" with no last name. And the bill was also addressed to simply "Wendy". I'm not married and no Wendy lives in my home. Today I mailed the bill back with "cancel" written across it. Murtlecake, just to be on the safe side scan your computer for any spyware.

I have a MAC so not spyware. These are made out to me, and I haven't gotten any bills.

Just logged in to Women's Health, and Rachel Ray they had a manage my subscription button and it says "active paid" on both.. haha and the active date on the Rachel is before I started sweeping I'm fairly positive.

Maybe it's from something else, or they were prizes. haha. I know the Forbes was a prize.. I entered to win some makeup but they said I won that instead.. of all things random

No purchase is necessary to enter. If you'd prefer to enter the sweepstakes without starting a trial subscription to Marie Claire or if you are already a subscriber, click here.

Almost all of the magazine sweeps have a statement similar to the above. Make sure you click the "CLICK HERE" link or you will automatically be subscribed. (And Billed)

I did get an email from Cosmo the other day and was billed, but I cancelled it and now it's clear. But the rest of the magazines all said active paid as my status. I started getting Shape this week too! Guess they must be some kind of prizes.

I am careful, I have noticed the auto subscribe ones.
