M & M's Wins are no good

I have been waiting for months for my only M & M's win, a coupon for a free bag of personalized MM's, wondering where the coupon is. Then I noticed this on the M & M's IWG homepage:

NOTICE: IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT, DUE TO A TECHNICAL ERROR, THE COUPON PRIZES IN THE GREAT M&M'S® BRAND CHARACTER VOTE WRAPPER instant win GAME HAVE NOT BEEN MADE AVAILABLE AS INTENDED. WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR THIS ERROR. TO ADDRESS IT, WE WILL OFFER THE COUPON PRIZES THROUGH AN ONLINE SWEEPSTAKES SCHEDULED TO BEGIN ON JULY 16TH AT NOON ET. FOR DETAILS, PLEASE COME BACK TO MMS.COM AFTER NOON ET ON 7/16/10.

So, basically, my win is thrown away, and they intend to give it to someone else in a different sweeps. Not a good PR move for MM's. This sucks. :cussing:

maybe not I received the code for the personalized M&Ms on Friday that I had won. The code is good for anything on M&M World up to the amount of the code.Since there is a minium number of bags on the personalized M&M I ordered regular.

It's a computer glitch which is covered in a disclaimer in the rules. These things happen occasionally. It is to be expected since nothing is 100% perfect especially when it comes to computers. I've had about eight false wins in instant sweepstakes in the 12 years I have been online sweeping. It would be great if computers never fouled up and everything ran perfect, but these are things that I expect will occasionally happen and don't surprise me when they do. I just forget about it and move on and hope it never happens again, but I know it will. :)

so the code they sent me is no good??? :scratch: I haven't tried to use it yet but I don't see how having another sweeps is fair to those who have already won?? :sunny:

The technical problem seems to be with "Wrapper" wins. I won online and had no trouble using my code.

hmmm.... i have won 2 bags of personalized m&m s ,but have not yet received the codes in the mail,but ithas not quite been the 6-8 weeks they said it would take.i hope they do come,or they make it up in some other way like maybe more m&m discover gift cards,we already received one of those and my daughter used it without any problems

i won back on april 2, and i'm still waiting. all i got was the congratulations e-mail. i have been calling their toll free# and the lady said they are aware of the problem, but it is fixed. for the last 4 weeks i have called and she keeps saying they are being mailed out and should get it any day. why is she lying, also, she wasn't the most pleasant person i ever spoke with. so i guess we will have to wait until 7-16 to find out what is going on. if we didn't get our coupon yet, then how in the world are people still winning them? this game is just as bad as the mcdonald's one.

OP here....I got no code either. Just a congratulations email, and nothing further since. That was back in early April. I think at some point, they realized they had no coupons, and began giving codes to the winners of the "coupon" (personalize bag of MM's). Those that were promised a coupon (the early winners) are SOL. Our prizes are being offereed up again in a new sweeps. Just pathetic.

I WON ON THIS SWEEPS BACK IN APRIL TOO. I RECEIVED A COUPON CODE IN MY E-MAIL THIS MORNING. :) :)

Received my coupon win/instruction email this am, too. They might be a little slow but they always have great contests with lots of prizes. I thank them....

I won the personalized bag of M&M's previously, also. I received an email today with the code to redeem.

The website notice refers to the Under the Wrapper Great M&M'S® Brand Character Vote Wrapper Instant Win Game. I believe this may be refering to the specially marked bags of M&Ms that had the chance to instantly win inside them. My bags were never winners. They may have forgot to distribute the winning wrappers or forgot to print the winning wrappers. Sounds like M&Ms is trying to make up for it by placing the prizes into a new sweepstakes. M&Ms have always been a great sponsor and I look forward to their promotions. I thank them, also. :sunny:

In defense of M&M, I received a congratulatory message this morning for the personalized M&M's. I think it was some time ago I had won it, but never received a confirmation. Well, I called the toll-free number and the girl walked me through the order. She spent quite a time doing it and couldn't be nicer. It was a good experience. Shipping is free, which was nice, too! GLA! Thanks M&M and sweepsstakes advantage!

I won the free bag of specialized M&Ms on 5/8 (I saved the msg) and just this
morning received an email from them instructing me on how to claim it. :):):)
