I haven't won much of late besides maybe a CD or free music download. That changed a little today... A local essay contest I entered picked their winner. We get to replace all our countertops, new sink, and installation costs are covered. We need to cover demo and disconnect/reconnect of appliances (gas stove).

Of course, I think this is going to cost us twice as much as wife wants to now refinish cabinets at same time, get new stove top, ....

Congratulations! We call that "one thing calls for another," problem "Creeping Elegance!" Amazing how one shiny new change calls for many more, and if the kitchen can be seen from other rooms, it will make them all look shabby, and so it goes...............

I chatted with the contest vendor today. While I don't want to knock the essay, he stated one of the reasons why we won is we followed the rules. Many of the entries did not even include the required phrases in the essay. (There were five phrases that they wanted to make it search friendly.) Amazing what following the rules does for you.... :)
