It's that time of year again.

Every year I get the same phone call/ notification.
they call letting you know your in the running for the money prize that if your selected they will fly you out to california where in their studio a famous celebrity will present you with a check. (this year it's George Hamilton-yes, this is where you wind up after Dancing With the Stars- and this year if your the lucky winner not only will George present you with the check, but, rumor has it he's going to also give you a year supply of Ritz crackers!!!!!!!!!)

and wait there's more !!!!!!!!

"....oh and by the way you've also been selected to receive magazine subscriptions at an UNBELIEVABLE GREAT price!"

was this my lucky day or what? Every year I'm offered this incredible deal, and imagine it's only offered to a select group of people ! and i'm one of those select few, year, after year, after year! what are the chances????????

I gracefully decline the magazine subscriptions but still enter for the prize (just incase- wouldn't want miss the opportunity to meet George! :laughing:

I don't think it's a contest you enter . whenever they call they say something about either a Master card, visa or American Express credit card. apparently it's run by the credit card company. As far as I'm concerned it's a big sham , just trying to get you to subscribe to magazines. theres' always some kinda free BONUS expensive watch involved if you subscribe. Every year no less.

I get this phone call every year, I always start with "No. I don't want any magazines. and it ends with No. I don't want any magazines."

I've been receiving this phone call for about 8 years in a row. I don't even let them finish. I cut them off.

It's a bunch of Balogne! I just feel bad for the people that fall for it, and buy 10 magazines thinking that will increase their chances of winning.
