Is it just me

tobby1 - I have to agree with you...I was just thinking the very same thing, and then I saw your comment. I've always kept positive about sweeps/instant wins...but there is just NOTHING happening lately. I was just telling my hubby that I'm getting really bored.

I've been sweeping for about 2 years now and have won many wonderful things, but I do miss the days of the instant wins with lots and lots of prizes (as Thumbelina pointed out - V8, Gatorade, and I remember Quaker Oats..that was an awesome one. I used to have my purse filled with $25 gift cards, there was always something exciting going on, and I felt like I actually had a chance at an instant win. Now I play just knowing I'm not going to. That's really not my personality, but I can't help it!!

I was wondering earlier...is it just me, or are these the sorriest group of instant wins in a long time? At least if there are some fun/interesting ones, it keeps my attention. I think these current instant wins are just dreadful!
 
I kinda feel the same way. I seem to fly through the instants , lately. As if, I already know a "Sorry." screen was waiting for me.

Yesterday, (they come over on the weekends), my niece and me were playing the Gogurt instant, and we were playing for the plasma tv. got the usual sorry message, today we went to go play and it said the prize was no longer available , it had already been won. I'm not even sure how many prizes they are giving away, but alot of them are already no longer available. I think that's going to be a quick one.
 
No, not just you. It's getting tougher to win, more sweepers and in some cases, less sweeps to enter. My kids won the first wins of 2008, movie tickets which is great because, it was one of my goals this year (win movie tickets to plan a movie night out, theater is over an hour away!).

I don't really believe there are as many sweepers out there as some people believe. Think about it. People see other people win, and they decide that they're going to try it fully expecting that they will win too. Most newbies have no idea of the magnitude of sweeps one has to do to win easily and consistently. Most sweepers, in general, only enter about 20 to 150 daily sweepstakes alone. Add to that, most of them don't enter them regularly; and some people only enter any given sweepstakes just once. Then reality sets in, when they don't end up meeting their high expectations. Then they get discouraged and many quit sweeping altogether.

This is probably true. People think it's all about luck, but it isn't. Luck plays a part, but basically sweeping is an odds game. No matter how bad the odds, you still can win if you enter enough times. After entering thousands of times, the odds are 1:1 or better. I explained this to my mother a long time ago when she was amazed that I kept winning and she couldn't believe it's possible to win at all.

I won the Glade basket the other day after playing once or twice. That's pure luck, but cumulatively I entered thousands every month to win. That's beating the odds.
 
I know my brother and his friends started entering last year, when they saw I was winning, as of today, none of them enter anymore, and none of them ever won anything.
people get easily discouraged , very fast too. some people just don't have the patience to sit their and type their name over and over, (not all contest allow you to use roboform, etc., some reject any form, and alot of contest now require you to type in a verification code at the end of the form)
I also think that when a contest first comes out there will be more people entering, and as the months go on, only the sweepers who are commited to doing it every day, will be left entering in the end. (that's just my opinion.)
sweeping is my favorite hobby. it's fun and productive.
 
Hey thanks for all the positive advice, I stared using it and guess what, I won a t-shirt, coffee cert. and aHipster appetizer's platter, paisley platter with dipping bowl set and tib bit plate. pmeek - yipppeeeeee!! It's happened to me before - I complain a bit and I start to win. Maybe we should start a thread for people to complain, but only so it will bring them luck! It hasn't worked for me yet this time, but I'm still hoping for some wins! So keep "complaining" people!

Slow here, too. I just keep trying when I can. Short of SwagBucks and freebies, I've gotten zilch in 08. Can't even get popcorn, and Rachael Ray hates me... Those two seem to be what everyone else is winning from... :) Just not me....

I think I'm up to 150 SwagBucks.... Just 350 more before I can cash that in for something.... Maybe by the summer....

I'm in the same boat - & am personally ready to get off of thie boat! :cry: I was so lucky until the end of November I guess - then all of the sudden it just stopped cold turkey. I'm going through a major withdrawal. I'm really not sure what they give you for this type of DTs! :crazytongue: I just keep telling myself I'm saving up for the big wins. :cry: For me, the wins come in spells, but I had been pretty lucky with the instants, usually one or more every week. Lately, not much for instant wins. Makes me sad. Don't know how many more times I can take seeing "Sorry, you lose!!". But, I agree, you just have to be persistant and I am sure they will come back for all of us.
