Invalid Entries?

The following is taken from the rules and regs of a SA sweeps:

NOTE: Internet entry must be made by the entrant only at the Website. Entries made by any other individual or any entity, and/or originating at any other web site or e-mail address, including but not limited to commercial sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering service sites, will be declared invalid and disqualified for this Sweepstakes. The use of any device to automate the entry process is prohibited.

Question: Is SA considered a commercial sweepstakes subscription notification service site?
Thanks.

I have never heard of "commercial sweepstakes subscription notification service site." When I Googled it, lots of sites came up, probably because the term is used in Official Rules. Although I could not find a definition, I do not think SA falls under that category. SA is a site where you can find lists of sweeps - that's all.

"sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering service sites" probably refers to sites and/or programs that enter FOR you.

I keep in mind that when a sponsor chooses to use their advertising money on a promotion {sweepstakes, contest, etc.} that they are looking for new customers and/or trying to keep the ones they have so it's reasonable that they want US to see their product/service, not some faceless program that enters FOR us.

I saved this because lwaxana explained this well:

Macros
Websites can detect the use of macros by several methods (examination of IP addresses from which submissions come, rapidity of response, etc.) Generally the use of form-fillers such as Roboform is OK. What they are trying to prevent is the use of services that automatically enter a lot of sweeps on your behalf (without your having to visit the sponsor's site). Such services typically charge you a fee and claim to enter hundreds of contests for you. That, obviously, is cheating.

 vonniejane1 - OR, you can start searching Facebook for sponsors {then go into their ABOUT when you find them to get their site links} so Facebook will be the trackback of where you came from if you still feel uncomfortable, but you better have LOTS of time - they aren't always so easy to find! :crazytongue:
