so, you get something to eat, drink..etc. You consume it and then you... what do you do? You throw the garbage away. This is a multi step process I know but, you ate, you drink it, you used it... THROW IT AWAY.. I bought the garbage can for just such a purpose. I know you have seen it. Its white, its in the laundry room, usually with garbage flowing out of it, It wouldn't be flowing out if you wouldn't wait until you have a whole bunch of garbage to throw away. Oh, and here is a tip..When you have to shove stuff in there to make room for your garbage, Take it out!

I understand its hard when you are full and content but guess what? I'm not a maid, I'm not your slave, and I don't enjoy picking up after all of you. Being a mom does not mean that I am the only person capable of it. :cussing:

My kids know Daddy is a 'bit' of a perfectionist and have learned ONE lesson with my one son...

My son has a few really good shirts he bought at Buckle.. which were about $50 each.. and he ruined two with NOT putting them in the wash right away. I told him that if he wants any more of those shirts, he will pay for them himselves and the jeans he wants which are $130, he can forget it until he shows me that he can take care of them....

the best thing I did was tell him that Sears roughboy jeans were fine for him unless he started to take care of his things. Oh the terror :laughing:

You know what's funny? I cleaned everything but the bathrooms today so I wouldn't have so much to do tomorrow. I go to the fair(unwillingly I might add) and come home and trip all over not one, not 2, but 3 pair of shoes. 2 pair being heavy a$$ work boots. Know what I did? I threw all 3 pair outside in the yard, in the dark, and it's supposed to storm real good :laughing:

When I was 15, I told my parents I was gay. Being the coward I was, I had Flamer be at teh house. lol.

When I told my Mom, she of course started to cry.

I actually do not look forward to it. This year was probably one of the best summers I had and the kids are still young enough to enjoy them (talk to me when they become teens! lol)

But I have to admit, I LOVE Staples "Its the most wonderful time of the year" ad. My kids hate it but I thought it was hysterical

I know what you mean, Michael. I love the kids being home with me during the summer. But lately I've been feeling like Trace and Tammy. The boys are arguing and fighting more here lately and they seem bored. We've been to the pool, the skatepark, the mall, the ice cream shop, the movies, a Red's game(well, minus me and add dad),and now the fair. They have 3 game systems, ipods, skateboards, bikes, rollerblades, sports equipment, DVD players(as well as portable DVD players), PSPs, etc. and they still b!tch and moan, bicker and tattle. Yeah, I'm ready for school bus yellow :laughing:

My girls have decided to try to put me in the crazy farm...not that it would take much! It has almost worked. With working on the house and the price of gas, we haven't been out much so they have had plenty of time to drive each other nuts. I think if I hear the phrase 'she is looking at me' one more time I am going to poke some eyes out so no one will know who is looking at who...

Of course the girls are 11 and 14 (Caitlyn will be 15 tomorrow :laughing: and this drives her crazy...) so they are natural enemies, sorta like a snake and a mouse. Except both of them are snakes

My husband for the most part is alright.. He does leave the occasional sock in the floor, little tiny hairs from his mustache in the sink, and has some aversion to using a coaster but after 15 years he knows what sets me off and does his best to not do that. :laughing:

David, my dh, is much more a 'lived in' person. He had 11 siblings and shared a room with 2 other brothers, so he's pretty good at ignoring the kids stuff. His attitude is as long as they aren't killing each other, a few messes won't kill us. I have gotten better on that.

I think my problem is more the idea of not taking care of things than a mess. I have money and grew up with never having to worry about things. But I had to work for things. I have to admit, when I owned a business, I was often in Asia or NYC on business, so I think I overindulged the children to try to make up for the time I wasn't home.

Last year, when my daughter started kindergarten, I bought her 17 pair of shoes. Yes 17. We won't talk about how many clothes she had

Now, ladies, you do NOT have to lay into me.. my sister did that VERY well herself. :crazytongue:

And completelyme, I drive David nuts.. we have a brand new house and great kitchen.. and I do the dishes by hand becuase they are cleaner.

I like perfection when it comes to housecleaning :sunny: :cheers: I have a huge kitchen, a master bath, a guest bath(boys' bath), a good size laundry room, and an entryway that I still mop by hand. The floors are cleaner if they are mopped by hand. I also Tide-mop the decks once a week(WITH a mop)and they're outside LOL

Tell me Michael, are you an organizational freak as well? Even my socks, panties, and bras are organized by color and placed just right :laughing:

Yes, things are organized. When David first moved in, he was looking in the pantry and he asked me if my favorite movie was "Sleeping with the enemy" lol. :laughing:

My suits and such are really organized by color because it's easier when you first get up and don't have to think! lol And the pantry in the home in VA was very small and I canned a lot, so things had to be organized.

But, honestly, I didn't do much cleaning. I had housekeepers who took care of the house, laundry, windows, etc. Everything except the kids room and their bathrooms. THAT was their jobs.

The women who do my cleaning in my home in VA worked for my parents, so I knew them very well and they do a great job. I still pay them even tho we aren't there. I feel I owe it to them.

Actually, right now, I'm trying to find housekeepers here in Santa Barbara. Augh.

Flamer has been interviewing companies and the attitude is beyond bad about what we want done. It's not money, it's attitude. I'm looking for someone to come in 3 times a week and clean. I guess things are soo good out here, they don't need work or think being rude is normal.
