I got a boo boo...

i fell down the flight of steps at our house. wood steps. it was fun. right. :tongue2:

i ended up with a hurt knee, a dislocated shoulder -- typing one hand is fun -- and a scratch cornea. don't ask me how i did the cornea, that's still a mystery. ha ha.

i go back to the specialist tomorrow to see if the knee is any serious damage. im on crutches and it's really fun to be on crutches when your arm is in a sling. dont try this at home

michael had to go to thailand for his uncles funeral so our friends are taking care of me. michael will fly back on saturday, be back here on monday.

so i wont be on much. 1 handed typing isn't working. my sister is doing my sweeps. got her trained  -- sorry sis

OW!!! Here I thought I was the resident klutz!!! :crazytongue:

We live upstairs and I am VERY careful on them since I've had 2 falls {stupid - those concrete curbs thingies are out to get me!!! :nono: } in our parking lot - I keep thinking the next time will be on those stairs!!! :nono: :crazytongue:

A scratched cornea HURTS!!! Not to mention a dislocated shoulder & sore knee - I feel for ya!!!

But you really made me laugh with the:

my sister is doing my sweeps. got her trained -- sorry sis

So it's not a TOTAL loss, right?

Get better & be thankful it wasn't any worse!!! :)

i nearly died a few months ago from a condition called 'thryoid storm' Margaret can post what it is, she's our resident know it all about conditions. ha ha.

at one point, i woke up and asked michael to come close and asked him to ask sis to do my dailes. i scared the nonsense out of him because he thought i was dying at that point and asking him for something. man did he get mad!

Sis is actually my sister in law. she is the one who got me into sweeping.. michael is still mad at her about it. lol

but he has done my sweeps a few times when i've been sick.

michael just hangs out on boards, i do the sweeping. he does the stocks and the market -- we won't talk about his mood right now.

i just got yelled at to get off the computer by flamer. geez, even when michael isn't around, someoen is nagging me about the computer.

I am so sorry to hear that you were hurt and I hope you heal quickly and feel better soon.

I just saw that on HOUSE - a 'thryoid storm' but I wasn't paying full attention I just caught that it could be fatal, eeeeek!!!

Funny how those that love us get mad when we are hurt/sick - probably because they feel helpless?

Scary stuff!!! Sorry if I sounded flippant before - my attempts at humor do tend to fall flat!!! :crazytongue:

Stay well & heal quick - we miss your wit!!!

amy, you didn't sound flippant. it has become a bit of a joke in our home.

i had thyroid problems for years that were misdiagnosed. i started to lose weight rapidly and i'm already a thin guy. i looked like a concentration camp victim. finally, a doctor at georgetown told me i had a hyperactive thyroid.

i was at georgetown hospital to take a radiation pill. michael got us a room at a hotel in washington and we were going to stay there three or four days to stay away from the kids.

i was in the hotel room and asked michael where my shoes were, he said i was holding them. i asked him again, he said i was holding them, about 4 times later, he realized something was very wrong, called the limo and rushed me to the hospital a few hours early.

my heart rate was nearly 200 when i walked in. they pretty much threw me on a table and rushed me off to the intensive care unit. poor michael had no idea what was happening. he called my sister who is nurse and she figured it was thryoid storm and called the family to get down there. there is less than a 10% chance of living when you are in a storm. i was very lucky.

i was in the hospital around 4 weeks wiht michael by my side the whole time. he only went home one day.

they took out my thyroid and i'm on medication my whole life.

but as i said, our sense of humor is really warped in our home. once in a while i'll ask michael where my shoes are when i'm holding them and he'll throw something at me and laugh. :headbang:

i made it through so i can laugh about it. i know i'm very blessed to be still here. it was not a fun time.

but there is something sick about laying in a bed in icu and being in critical but stable condition and asking your husband to do your sweeps. warped for sure! ha!

happy you are ok.. scratched cornea sounds painful. I hope you dont have any more missteps..

you and Michael have such great senses of humor.. It must get crazy in a good way around your house..

David I heard all about your boo boo and I sure hope you are ok soon. I have got stairs in my home and they are very dangerous. They turn and are pretty steep. I have to be very careful going down then especially having 2 dogs.

Be careful :)

Sorry to hear about your mis-adventure.
Take care of yourself
hoping for a speedy recovery.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Wishes for a speedy recovery and lots of wins to make you feel better.

Do you get to wear an eye patch? My husband (boyfriend at the time) got to after he scratched his cornea - so sexy!

 So sorry to hear of your mishap. Hope you are feeling better soon as we love hearing from you.

I totally sympathize with you because falling down and/or up stairs is a habit of mine and I wish you a speedy recovery. BUT......you do realize though that this does nothing to help your argument for wanting to climb that mountain in China.

 oh yeah that's right no climbing in the near future for David.

You know that if I ever come to where you guys are I am going to have to hang out with you two! You have my warped sense of humor...gotta love that!

Hope you are feeling better soon! You need some pampering!!
