how much do you win in a year?

I started doing this for fun about 2 months ago. I've won a loaf of bread and "Dinner and a Movie" from Jergens instant win game. I am having a blast, but find myself becoming a little addicted. I've never been one to spend a lot of time on the computer and am on it now at least 3 hours a day. I'm wondering if the time and energy pay off. What are your opinions.....How much does one typically win in a year? I know it can vary but I'm just curious what the average is out there. So far I can say I really enjoy Sweepstake Advantage. It's layed out very well and it is the first thing I look forward to doing when I wake up. I'm definately going to continue, but I'm wondering if I should be more "choosy" about what sweeps I enter.

Welcome and congratulations on your wins. It can be a very frustrating hobby but, can be very rewarding.

2008 so far $559.16 and all but about (2 wins) $51 of it is instant wins.

January-ARV Total $369 (10 wins)
February- ARV $7.42 (2 wins)
March- ARV $130.75 (3 wins)

Good luck to you! I have been sweeping for a long time now, only started saving my totals in 2005 which was an AMAZING year for me.

 Welcome to SA! Glad you are having fun. Congratulations on your wins!
The wins vary for everyone and so do the totals each year. Let's just say that if I wasn't winning I wouldn't be doing this day after day for years. Best of luck to you!

Hi, Welcome to SA! I've been with this club since it started, it's the BEST!! Everyone's great and so supportive. I've only joined the Forum for about a year. I've won an average of $100 in prizes and cash to $800 in prizes and cash a month every year for over 10 years!! It is EXTREMELY addicting. I haven't won anything big yet, my biggest was a huge Dooney and Burke bag that was ARV of $450 dollars. I LOVE this hobby!! Something for practically nothing, just a few hours of my time. It's all worth it even for those little wins, just to see CONGRATULATIONS, instead of SORRY, just makes my whole day!!

Keep it up and Enjoy!! We're all hoping for that Big One :sunny:

Again, Welcome to SA and I'm sure you'll be posting wins for many years to come!
Aloha!!

I've been a member here for about 2 years but I don't post often. Welcome to you and I hope you enjoy SA as much as I have. I've been winning regularly over the course of time since I joined, although I haven't had a big win...yet!

I really appreciate all the sponsors and I try to keep my shelves stocked with their products. I also think the various contest administrators do a great job for the most part.

Happy sweeping to all

well this is just my second year. Last year I won about $1500 for the whole year. This year so far I have already won about $3000. So I guess it is going to be different all the time. And yes it is very addictive. I cant count the times I am up in the middle of the night entering sweeps, because that is when everyone is sleeping and I have time to sit and enter. Good luck and have lots of fun, and remember to say thank you to everyone and the man upstairs if that is in your belief. :sunny:

Welcome, kiddo! Let me put it this way: Last Christmas, almost everything I gave (mostly $25 thru $150 Gift Cards) was stuff I won thanks to SA. My best year I won 3 trips, but had to forfeit 2 of them due to hurricane duty (I'm Red Cross). This stuff is fun and, big or small, you DO win. Rock on! :headbang:

Great question and how do you winners, win! I've been sweeping for 3 years now and hardly ever win. Due to working hours, my only available time is around now while getting ready for work or around 7:pm when home from work. I also spend about 3 hours a day and so far this year have only won the Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways rabbit and a tide sample.

It has to be more than luck. Have you pain stakingly studied winning times by the various sponsors so now know the best time to play them? Can you enter sweeps even from work so can play during the day? (I can't and would be fired if caught doing that). And it can't also be enter hundreds of sweeps to win anything, that's a waste of time and ending up with stuff you can't use or want.

What's the secret??? You can tell me, I won't tell anyone...lol

Thanks,

Welcome aboard. And congrats.

You ask if you should be choosey.... Depends. Do you have time to enter sweepstakes whose prizes you don't want, or do you want to win "anything" you can and then use those things you don't want as gifts or for trading/donations? In that sense, I'd spend my time first on trying to win things I would want. Only after you've entered everything that you might want to get, then consider those that might make good gifts. You also have to consider is it better to enter a sweepstakes for the first time, vs. getting a second or additional entry in a daily.

For a stretch, I tried to stay on top of things by going through the new sweeps daily listings and the expiring that day listings, but it is hard to keep up if your time is limited. At a minimum, I try to hit the expiring at end of month listings when time is tight....

There is no magical time on when you should enter them.

As far as what to expect to win.... as previously stated, everyone is different. Some people enter more CD/DVD sweeps, so might see more wins, though value is low. Other people might enter more sweeps for higher value items and win less or not at all. I'm still shooting for that HGTV dream house, but nobody picks me there... :) I like to find the sweeps that are easier to enter quickly. Look into RoboForm or Autofill to help fill out the forms. It will speed entry up.

Do keep a log of your winnings. It is nice to look back on and sometimes you don't realize just how much you did win in a month.

Hi and welcome!
I havent actually calculated my winnings, but I would say that I have won probably about $400-$500 ARV this year so far!
My biggest win was a Bose Stereo System with outdoor speakers, ARV $1000 and a limited edition video ipod from Jennifer Lopez with her signature engraved in the back! (my favorite!)
I started sweeping in 06 and have kept a list of all my prizes. I would say on the average, most times I win at least something once a week. Sometimes there are dry spells too! My best wins have been middle of the night, thats when I won the Bose and I recently won a $250 Overstock.com credit.
SA is wonderful and so are the people..I really enjoy my time spent playing instants and sweeps..and have had some nice surprises too...when you win and just have something arrive at your front door!
Its all a matter of luck, and costs nothing and is certainly better than watching tv!
Good luck to you!

Welcome to SA.. Congrats on the wins. small wins are nice too. they keep ya going. I dont enter for stuff I dont want or need. I do enter alot of dvd sweeps and for small prizes because thats what I like. Last year was good for me. Almost $10,000.. This year is starting out really slow. Around $1,300 for the year so far. If you are wanting to manage your time better you should definitely be a little more choosy about what ya enter. you are using robo right? real time saver. Bottom line is the more you enter the better your chances of winning something. I crunched my numbers last year and I ended up winning less than 2.5% of what I entered. And I entered alot of sweeps  I hope ya have a great win really soon. Just keep entering and the wins will come.

Even though I started sweeping in 2005, I only did it occasionally until when Jan. 2007 started,
I decided to make a real hobby of it.

I keep a record/journal of every win I get big or small.
In 2007 I won 1,550. in prizes. My biggest win last year was a laptop computer ARV $700.

So far this yr. I have won $166. in prizes.

I am still waiting for a really big win. it gets frustrating some days, and when I feel I am
burning out I just do a few sweeps that day, and usually the next day, I feel ready to take on
some more... :sunny:

Thanks for your responses. You guys are such sweeties! I did buy roboform about 3 weeks ago, up until then I was manually entering......UGH! Roboform has been AWESOME!! I am inspired by your responses and am looking forward to plugging away! Thanks for the welcome...I'll be sure to post any wins. Talk to ya soon!!!! : :
