Horror movies anyone?

Another one inspired by true events:

The Strangers

A little more info and history behind the movie. *Warning* Link may contain spolier. Not sure

You were right. This movie pretty much sucked. Some suspense, but geez, nothing happened until the end, and that was anticlimatic. I give it a D.

On another note, I just finished watching "You don't mess with the Zohan" which was pretty funny. If you like Adam Sandler, then you will probably like this.

Yep, The Strangers bit the dust. It's sad but I was expecting some carving or butchering or something

I love Adam Sandler. I'll have to check that one out. I was thinking about checking out The Onion Movie as well, if they have it listed that is.

Ok, I am a bit behind on newer movies because, we don't go to the theater (about an hour away) and we haven't been renting movies with everything going up in price. Anyways, we rented 4 movies for $14 at movie gallery on Sat. and I just finished the last one.

My opinions-

Rattatouli (sp??) was an adorable children's movie. We all loved it!

No country for old men- We were given rave reviews from family and friends and the movie was great but, the ending was crappy. They could have done a better job.

I am legend- Good movie, really sad though. I wish they didn't kill him at the end, they could have made a 2nd movie and I would have watched it. Some of the graphics were poor though.

30 days of night- I really wanted to see this movie and I think I wasted my money. It was weird, I didn't really like it a whole lot. Of course I watched it with the lights off and alone and there was a few parts that made me jump but, it wasn't all that good.

I want to see strangers and The happening when they come out.

I felt the same way about 30 days of Night. Not enough horror, carnage, fear, etc. I like looking @ Josh harnett, but he's too "cotton candy" for a horror movie. And so the horror factor gets lost...if it was ever there to begin with which it wasn't. I could go on but I won't

My oldest rented Diary of the Dead last weekend. Some of you will like it and some of you won't. I didn't. It had a nice fear tactic(psychological) to it: those that get bitten become infected and "change." those that die, period, will change as well.

I don't understand how fools get bit. The zombies aren't that strong and certainly not fast

Oh man, I can't believe you guys didn't like 30 days of nights. I really like it. It was a little different from the typical vampire movie, and I thought the ending was sad.

Completelyme, have you watched Cannibal Holocaust (I think that's the name of the movie) yet? I saw it about a month ago. Pretty twisted. Just my type of movie! :booty"

The ending was sad. I will say that with the vampires not speaking english it made them seem more authentic.

And Cannibal Holocaust is exactly the movie I'll be watching when I have some alone time. I'm thinking maybe 6am tomorrow morning  I'm super excited now that I know you liked it LOL.

A couple of others.

Try "Timber Falls"...kind of reminds me of the movie "Broken". Really twisted backwoods family.

"The Descent"...If you haven't seen this one, give it a try. I thought it was really good. Women kicking butt.

I LOVED the Descent!! But the ending was not a happy one like I wanted it to be :booty"

The Descent is actually worth buying for me at least. I never buy movies unless they are for the boys. I watch a movie one time and that's it for the most part because it of course seems repetitive.

Timber Falls, huh? That sounds good too!

We always buy. I quit renting when they started costing so much. Just wait a week or two and you can buy the movie for as much as you rent it for at Blockbuster. We have over 500 DVD's. Of course, I haven't bought any in months since I found "you know what".

I'll bet money that you'll like "Timber Falls".

I'm about to watch something called "Murder-Set-Pieces" that's suppose to be stomach churning. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I really don't know why I didn't like it. I love zombie and vampire movies but, this one was just too weird and poorly made I guess. I waited and longed to watch it too!

I rarely get to rent movies and I am slowly trying to build my movie collection up by trading, buying at pawn shops, yard sales, etc. I buy out of the $5 bin at walmart maybe 1-2 movies a month. We don't have cable so it's nice to have movies on hand. If I didn't have dial up...

Murder-Set-Pieces - Let's just say "I can't believe I watched the WHOLE thing". Another one of those that I couln't decide if it was a horror movie or an x-rated movie. Gorewise I would give it about a 6. This movie was disturbing, and not in a good way. Realistic, but the acting sucked. Necrophilia, rape, very graphic sex scenes and nudity, torture, and young girls getting murdered. Apparently this movie has been banned in some countries.

I remember watching a horror movie titled "Pieces" way back when(early 80's I think). Some guy was cutting off random pieces of random girls with a chainsaw to make his dream woman. She came to life and clawed his crotch off. The end.

I agree. I saw this one last year and that guy was...umm...I can't seem to think of a word.
I saw Pieces several years back too and every time I see a puzzle now I'm reminded of it.
I'm currently looking for a copy of one called From Beyond. I watched it the same night I saw Pieces and got hooked on Jeffrey Combs movies after that. As a rule...if it's on and has JC...I'll more than likely watch it.

the last house on the left- really good movie-MUST SEE

STRANGELAND-with dee snider

and oddly i like watching the faces of death,i own one of them

 "Pieces" sounds like a fun movie!

Has anone seen "Cannibal"? I read it's a total gorefest but haven't been able to find a copy.

I watched "The Happening" last night. It started off sooooooo good, but after about 30 minutes into the movie, it went downhill fast. I just wanted to haul off and slap the wife, as she was so irritating. They had the characters doing such stupid things. UGH, I hate that. Yeah, I'm gonna stay with a nutcase, and then leave the house with all this going on. This could have been really good, as it was scary in the beginning because it could happen in real life. What a disappointing movie.

Anybody seen "88 Minutes"? I'm gonna try to watch that today. It got horrible reviews, but someone told me that thought it was really good. Lot's of twists and turns. We shall see.

Yeah the happening wasn't happening  What a steaming pile. Not only was the story stupid but I hate to say it.. mark wahlberg was just awful. I'm thinking a lot of it was the script but still. Even his looks couldn't save this movie. I think M. Night is thinking to hard ya know. With the sixth sense the ending was a nice surprise. It made sense. With signs even though I think he took the easy way out with the ending it was still decent... from there you have. the village. wth?.. lady in the water..omg! and now this. He is definitely losing it.

It really is a shame to because he had a very promising career.

I completely agree. I really like Mark, and think he's a good actor, but this movie, his character just seemed so wishy washy, and I'm not use to that with him.

As far as Night, I don't think we have seen the end. I usually really like his stuff. Never watched lady in the water. Looked stupid to me. The Village, pretty much bit the big one. I really like Signs tho. Didn't he do Cabin Fever also? I loved it, lots of great gore.

On another note, just finished watching 88 minutes. I thought it was ok. Nothing great, but not as bad as the critics made out. The character's in the beginning were kind of strange to me, but then it got better. I think it seemed weird to me watching Pacino with those young actors. I don't know their names, but one is the redhead from Urban Legends. It just seemed off to me. But maybe I'm just showing my age.

Oh damn. I had read Mark's acting wasn't up to par and I didn't believe it. That beautiful man rocks! I'm saddened to know not only did his acting suck but so did the movie  He never sucks!

I really don't think it was his acting, but more the sucky lines he had to work with.
