Help! I'm new to this!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site and to sweepstakes in general. Figured I'd give it a try. But what I really want to know is does this stuff really work? You all are really winning these great prizes and cash? Figure I have nothing to lose so I'll give it a try. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
 
Welcome. Best advice I can give you is be patient. Enter for what you are interested in and enter daily. You will win.
 
Hi and welcome to SA :wave: yes people really win. I have won almost 20,000 in cash and prizes in the three years I have been sweeping. The best advice is to enter, enter and enter some more. Be persistent. If you dont win right away keep trying. Get robo, it makes entering much easier and be sure to use all the tools SA offers.. sweepspop, sweepscheck... etc. good luck and I hope to see you posting in the winners circle soon.

I'm going to be straight froward with you, its not as easy as it sounds. Enter, enter, some more. To answer your question, yes there are great prizes to be won. The question is are you devoted enough to enter every day to increase your chances if its daily or just lucky on the instants & one time entries. I'm sure everyone around here has a different method but they all share one thing in common when it comes down to it. Enter your grits off. 300 - 500 a day is a good starting point.

Last word of advice, keep going. Don't matter if you don't win anything. A lot of people quit because they don't win something in a few weeks.
 
Hi and Welcome to SA. I've been sweeping about 3 years now. First year I didn't win much. Then at the end of the year I won an XBox360 and a great 7 night stay at any Westin Hotel. The next year I won lots including 1500.00 from a local radio station. Now, my biggest win has been a 100 gift card from Publix grocery store that I entered on here.

I dont have time to enter the daily contests like I use to so now I'm just entering for items I really want or trips that I would like (several people have won great trips and posted about them on SA). I am now concentrating on the instant wins (which are getting harder and harder to win since the economy has tanked) and the one entry per person. I find those are the easiest to win and everyone who enters has the same odds of winning.

A good resource for sweeping is your local TV and radio stations. I went on Google and put in ________area radio
stations and got a list. I then went to their websites and most of them (especially if they are corporate owned) had
a lot of one entry per person types of contests. I have won tickets to plays, 1500.00 cash, CD's, DVD's, and tickets to Busch Gardens and Sea World.

Welcome--I have been pretty lucky (even though it doesn't seem like it this year). I enter probably only 100 per day, and only for things I want or need. I seem to have a month that is pretty good to me, and have won something big the last three years within that month. Other months are smaller, but still cool. I keep a list of things that I have won so that in times when I am not winning, I can refer back and realize that yes, I am still winning some!

It's a lot of fun. This site is really helpful, too.

I am new to this myself. Just started doing sweeps in January. I just won a $500 prize yesterday(2 gift cards worth $250 from Bed Bath & Beyond and Sherwin-Williams). Other wins: 8 jars of Pace salsa, 2 $10 instant wins, mixing bowl, tote bag, 2 deodorants.
My advice from one newbie to another is:
1. Keep it fun-if you are doing too much and it seems like a chore rethink how you are entering the sweeps and how many you are entering. I think most people tend to overdo it at first and get turned off. I know I sure did. I don't have the time or desire to do 300-500 sweeps a day. I have a list of 200 daily sweeps and I enter them about every other day which makes my load about 100 a day. Plus I enter all the Once Only Sweeps a few times a week.
2. Only enter sweeps with prizes you really want and always consider the taxes you will have to pay on prizes.
3. Get rid of sweeps that are really annoying to you unless the prizes are worth it.
4. Take advantage of this website. Sweepstakes Advantage has a lot of good information (read through the forums) and helpful people. I asked the staff to help me make sure my notification letter was not a scam and they were great! Plus this site makes managing you sweeps easy and cuts down on time it takes to enter them each day.
5. Don't get discouraged. I was ready to quit last week and I am so glad I didn't.
6. Enter each sweepstakes at least once if you like the prizes. It only takes one entry to win a sweepstakes and you can never win if you don't enter. This is how I handle annoying daily ones-I enter them once.
7. Look at all the prizes that are offered. You might not necessarily want the grand prize but the first and second place prizes might be a great win for you.

hi welcome to the sweepstake just dont give up and keep doing it daily i won car,trip to hollywood to see the american idol and six hundred dollars in one sweepstake i saw carrie underwood win and meet paula abduhl and all of the idols they stayed in the say hotel we did was a great win and then i just won six thousand dollar ring from glamour magazine and much more

As much as I love SA, another tip is don't only limit your sweeping to what you see here. Let this be your community and base of operations but actively search for new sweepstakes by checking out other sites.
