Have you started your Christmas shopping?

Trace and I were talking about this earlier. I started last weekend, but have only bought some little things so far. The boys love socks just like their momma  so I've bought 9 pair of ankle socks a piece, an Axe kit for oldest, and a video game I found on sale for youngest. I plan on going out again this weekend also because Old Navy is supposed to have a sale on jeans and hoodies.

Aww, man, do we have to give gifts again this year? When will the insanity end?

I started months ago...both of the girls want Ipod Nanos so that will be their 'big' gifts when I get them. Travis will want just money...

I will stay up all night on Thanksgiving night and finish mine (I hope...). That has become my favorite way to shop ~ good deals, free shipping, and I don't have to hassle with the crowds

How funny you asked! Yesterday I bought my first (small) gift. It seemed kind of early, but then I realized it's not that far off! We've pretty much cut way down on exchanging gifts...but in this economy it is just too expensive to buy for everyone. People are very resistant to this idea...

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday but the kids like Christmas best for obvious reasons  I know merchandise and gifts are cheaper the closer to Christmas but I'm always worried I won't be able to get what they want if I wait that long. Oldest wants an early present of 2 Metallica tickets. We're still debating that one. Youngest doesn't know what he wants. They have almost everything already. I think we're going to get them each a snowboard this year since that is something they don't yet have and they both are already skateheads. We have some mad hills out here and they'd love it.

Ugh. Yeah, Tammy, I hate loathe the crowds and rude, pushy, snatchy, selfish, maniacal buttholes. That's why I'm trying to get the majority of it done now. Later, I can pick something up as I see it.

We don't buy for anyone but the boys, each other, our mothers, and my step-dad.

My list is crazy...

of course the kids
Jimmie and I buy for each other (this might be out this year because of house improvements)
My Dad and Step-Mom
His Dad and Mom, and Granny
7 nieces and nephews
My Grandparents
homeroom teachers and 2 busdrivers
2 coaches
Christmas gift for trashman...

I know I am leaving someone out, but that is the majority I think...

That would be me. I like simple things....like money, stocks, bonds, small islands etc.

I haven't started yet. Ill wait til the last moment as usual. It's how I roll.

I havent really. I gotta get the two oldest birthdays outta the way first. Then I will start.. My daughter is easy. She just wants books. thats it.. So A GC to borders it is.. I will get her a few other things too. mostly band tshirts is my guess.. easy!.. the little one.. easy. He isnt at the age where he figures up the prices of things..

My oldest boy.. He is hard to buy for.. He doesnt know what he wants and likes so how am I supposed to.. I will be checking gamestop between now and xmas for good prices on games..

My husband and I dont buy for each other. Just the kids.

Christmas shopping is easy for me. I only buy for my father and my two sons. Last year, we started taking a week vacation with our sons – and that is their Christmas present. Last year it was a cruise. It was awesome – we really re-bonded as a family.

This year the boys want to take a toy hauler out to the desert and ride 3 wheelers (like we did twenty years ago). Moses has the toy hauler. It is new and sleeps 8 – plenty of room. We will rent the toys for their x-mas presents and supply gas and food. It sounds like a really fun time!

My dad is always happy with clothes, so I can get away with a shirt or two and some socks!

Christmas has become stress free since my family has matured.

:sleepy:

...Christmas shopping???

...sure. I've started to do my yearly ritual of lighting a yule log in September, carefully tending it to make sure it never goes out, nuturing it on freezing winter nights, just so I can BURN every piece of junk mail or newspaper insert that EVEN sort'a mentions Christmas Sales!

:cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

Any questions???

:crazytongue: (bah humbug?)
