Has anyone turned down big wins?

Just wondering how many people have turned down wins because the item wasn’t worth what the taxes you would have to pay on it at the end of the year. I won a Modelo branded clothing line valued at $1900 but the clothes looked hideous and they couldn’t even guarantee my size so I turned it down. Also turned down a kayak valued at $2000 because I was told that taxes are around 30% on the value of item. That would have been around $600 and I found the same kayak online for way cheaper than $2000 so I felt like they jacked up the value of the item. Anyone else run into this problem?

Yes, earlier this year I won a trip to San Francisco/Napa to record a hologram at Microsoft studios and have dinner with winemakers. The thought of doing those things gave me anxiety and the ARV was $20,000. Not worth it.
I've seen it is possible in the past that some sweepstakes wins will let you take a cash option if you have a medical issue and can't travel. Just by asking.

Yeah, I asked if there was an alternative prize or cash option and they said no.
Same with my mine… I asked for a cash alternative but was told no. It’s so disappointing… it makes me think they sometimes do that because they know people will turn it down … like who wants to pay taxes on a $20,000 trip to make a hologram and have dinner with a bunch of strange people ?!? Lol
