Just curious if anyone has forfeit a grand prize before.
I did for the first time this week.

I won the following but I turned it down. I'm not a big time golfer and I couldn't find any friends interested in the prize.
Even if I sold it I don't think I could have broke even with the amount of taxes I would have owed at the end of the year (total ARV $2435.00)

Yes have turned down a grand prize

I have had to turn down a couple grand prizes - each were trips and had already won a trip for the same time. One year I won , suite at the Rays (MLB), tickets on the glass for the Lightning(hockey) and 10 tickets to The Lion King broadway show ( traveling to the Straz) ALL for the same date. I accepted the Lion King because hubby really wanted to go to that - accepted the Baseball tickets ( son-in Law used ) and turned down the Hockey.

If it is stuff ( golf clubs, grills etc) I always accept - a few years ago I won a huge tailgate grill worth $3500. Many were turning it down because of the value but we wanted it. The sponsor ended up not being able to get the grill and sent us the check instead. Between the family or people we work with everything either gets used or sold.

Yes, I have had to turn down 4 trips. Hollywood, 2 NASCAR meet & greets, NBA finals. On 2 of the turn downs they awarded me the prize I was actually entering for.

Yep, I turned down a Mediterranean cruise since all side trips (daily things to do when ship ports) was not included. Reading the site, those can add up to $100 a day, a lot for a 2 week cruise! If I want to spend that kind of money, I would rather plan my own trip. I hope it went to someone who really enjoyed it.
