Giraffl - legit?

Has anyone ever won anything from Giraffl? The only raffle I ever see that has been announced is their $20 visa weekly giveaway. The rest require a specific amount of tickets until they begin, something like 50,000 and only 1 per person. Once a raffle is complete, you are supposed to check the winner list and as soon as your name is called, if you are on it, then you have 24 hours to claim it or it moves on to the next one... I noticed there was the same "giraffl admin'' listed every 20 or so people though. Is this a common practice or ? :confused:
 
I agree about Giraffl. I feel the same way about 'Rafflecopter' I'll stay away from that one until i see some positive feedback from SA users.

I like rafflecopter, actually! I have won through rafflecopter at least twice now. It makes entering on blogs easier, because instead of making seperate comments for each entry and then the owner having to select a manual winner, it lets you do everything at once in a single widget and then picks someone. I do not think it is the same as Giraffl, which really does not seem legit, and not just because I have had no luck with yet. Which by the way since this post, all the admin accounts were changed to the same, non admin username.

I'll take another look at it then. I've been on SA for almost 5 years, in that time i've seen some questionable sites come and go. I just like to be sure that these folks are legit before i enter personal info.

Thank you for letting us know about your concerns. I will try to explain everything and correct a few things that may seem unclear.

1. You can enter as many times as you want. Free tickets are available to anyone and all you do is click the get a free ticket button as many times as you want. You don't have to share any of your personal info to sign up, just an email address so we can contact you when it ends. many people have entered hundreds of times to win things.

2. As for the GiraffL Admin name appearing on the winners list, this is something we are fixing. The admin profile is used all of the time to test when people say they are having a problem with the site (which usually involves entries), also when we enter the entire list of users into the raffle it is a standard code that also enters the admin account again. We will never claim the prize ourselves and always give it away to a non-employee or anyone who works on the site.

3. As for the high limits on big prizes, that is so we can pay for the item. We give away free tickets and they don't pay as well as other sites who demand a $20 donation per entry. If we did that we could easily make the ticket number much less, but we think our users like the free entry approach much better. The goal of the site is to raise money for charity by taking ad revenue and donating it. 70% of the proceeds from each raffle are donated to the charities listed. Eventually when we get a large enough user base we will be able to do raffles much faster.

Why can't i get anymore free tickets? Why can't I enter ANY of the "free" raffles? What is going on with the site? my screen name is: apolsauc on your website. Do I have to "buy" tickets? If so, forget it, I'm done with the website. So much for "free" and unlimited.

Free tickets are available by sharing on FB, Twitter, or by clicking "get free ticket". They are always available. You don't have to purchase tickets. There is the ability to take as many as you want for as long as you want to sit and take them. We do not put a limit on anyone for the number of tickets they can take. Now some people don't want to get 1 ticket at a time, so they have the option to purchase them in bulk and enter them, but their ticket has no better odds of winning than the free one other users take. Hi.. thank you for responding back. I found the problem was my internet browser.. you have to have ie 10 or so to use the site correctly. I'm in and it works. thanks.
 
Good info to remember - when troubleshooting, I always try the easiest solution 1st!

I always assume the issue is on my end before contacting a site/sponsor. That's step #2 - to go to the source, or as close as possible. I prefer FB because I've noticed sponsors respond quicker than if I use their CONTACT US form. Step #3 is rarely needed, but if it is, call them if possible.
