Getting More Members to Post

Hi all....I just wondered if you had any ideas on how we could encourage more SA members to post their wins. I would love to see the sweeps that the SA members are winning. Also to encourage them to take part on any of the message boards they might be interested in. Could something be put in the SA Newsletter encouraging participation? or what?

I don't have the time to post all of my wins!! :smt016

I actually like the forums the way they are. I'm afraid if more people start posting it will turn as dramatic and as out of control as some other place.

Could there maybe be a sticky for instant win screen shots? I always enjoy looking at those that I never win, or just when I need some inspiration...lol?

I'm embarrassed to post my wins. It feels like bragging. I know everyone posts, but I feel silly. I'll try to do better.

Oh, I'm also a quiet, shy person, so that is why I don't post much in the forums! :smt002 :smt005

I like your ideas Nations. :smt001

I used to post all my wins at another sweep site. I was told I was a liar, a cheat and many other unpleasant things, because I won so much.
I have posted a couple of my wins here, and everyone has been extremely supportive and kind.
However, I am a bit gun shy after my other experience, and now only post select wins. I will try and make an effort to post more wins here though!
For example, just yesterday I received notice of a pet water fountain I won from Hill's Pet food. One of my son's has won 3 packs of bubble gum from Hubba Bubba this last week. I won a CD from Classics Du Jour on Tuesday, an email notice from Dee Snyder's House of Hair that I won a 3 CD set on Wednesday. They are all small wins, but great in the eyes of my cats, kids and Hubby! I just did not think anyone else would be interested!

I'm the same way. I feel that posting wins can be miscontrued, so I don't do it. Some do post all their wins to encourage others and some do it to brag (the braggerts are the ones you have to question whether or not they're being truthful). I will mention prizes I have won now and then in coordinating topic threads, but I mainly keep them to myself.

I do know of several sweepers elsewhere that do make up most of what they win. Because of that, it makes it very hard for people who don't know you on a website to figure out if you're one of the honest people or you're not. So, it's just best not to post--in my book at least.

That being said, I don't think anyone would believe me if they saw how much I won!! :smt003

I love reading others wins. :smt003 Its nice to know which instants are giving away prizes and which arent. also its nice to know people are being notifed of prizes so we can all be on the lookout. Its the nature of sweeping, some are gunna win more than others. Maybe because they enter more I dont know. I dont think it is bragging. And I cant imagine someone lying about a win. seems stupid. so go ahead post those wins. :smt006

how do you save a screenshot? I can print it out but dont know how to save it. I to would love to see sceenshots. Like for the totinos. Im never gunna win that one so it would be nice to see what a winning screen looks like. Thats a good idea. I would like to see a thread just for screenshots.

You're looking at it positively; but, believe me, I know of at least several sweepers elsewhere who make up wins on their list. It's probably an insecurity issue whereas they want to draw attention and awe to themselves.

However, not knowing which is which, others may no longer want to post their wins in fear of being lumped in with the ones who are braggarts and liars. You may not view them that way, but some others might.

Members are very nice and helpful here. I'm sure if you were interested in how other members are doing and what their techniques are you can pm them and ask. I'm sure they would be more than happy to answer your questions and curiosities. :smt004

To answer one thing for you though. Although, sweeping is a game of chance no matter how many sweepstakes you enter or how many entries you put it, one thing is true no matter what, the more sweepstakes you enter and the more entries you get in, the more you will win. That right there is a given!! :smt002

lidarkside, I remember the 1st time I read that people would lie about win(s). I remember being shocked, confused, and disgusted that people would LIE about winning, and the rationale given never did make any sense to me.

Then again, I tend to believe people - to a fault. :smt003

Posting of wins (to me) is as 3mnkids1 said - to encourage & inform others.

Also, this hobby we all love is even MORE fun when we can "share the wealth" be it though adding sweeps, posting UPC's, trivia, or what have you.

That's what energizes and motivates others to post IMHO - sharing begets sharing!!! :smt004

Well then, I just won $1,000,000...just kidding!! :smt005 I wish!!

Unfortunately, it comes down to that one nasty phrase, "attention whores".

That's why they do it, it feeds their ego, and somehow makes them feel better about themselves no matter how temporary that feeling may last.

I don't post for two reasons. I'm not comfortable with it, and I have one of those "wonderful" ex's that just loves to check up on me at websites looking for anything he can badmouth me for at hearings. :smt019 He'd fit in perfectly at another website!! :smt005

I just started sweeping online recently, so I haven't won much. But I will post all my wins.

I love reading the wins section!!!! It really inspires me to keep entering.

lidarkside - I wish you HAD won - I'd be so VERY happy for you!!! :smt004

I'm so sorry you have to deal with a vindictive ex - I've only had to deal with the cyber aspect, and that's disturbing enough!!! :smt018

I deal with people the way I wish to be dealt with, rather than letting my past inform my present, so as a friend once said about me, I give the benefit of the doubt to my own detriment sometimes. :smt005

But that's OK with me - I'm much happier this way. :smt002

So... if someone wants to post they won something to give themselves a lift, it's no skin off my nose :smt002 :smt004

Trip wins are one of my favorites. We went to Germany in March (half of my family lives there), we have a weekend in New York City coming up in October (they're supplying us with limo service since we don't need to fly), and we decided to go to Orlando for our anniversary on Labor Day weekend with the 5 Southwest Airline Ticket vouchers we won.

...and the year's not over yet!! :smt002

Those are cool wins! Congratulations and thanks for sharing them! :smt001

I like reading about what everyone wins -- it gives me hope! I can't imagine lying about a win - makes no sense to me and I am sure would just give me bad karma! Wait a minute - I did lie, but not on here and actually it was an April Fool's joke to my friend and fellow addicted sweeper - I told her I won the pool table on the Reese Puff IW! She was so excited for me -- I felt HORRIBLE when I had to say "April Fools!" Needless to say - I know I will never win that one now!!! LOL! But seriously, posting a lie is pointless. I try to post most of my wins - except maybe the Mike and Ike candy I won this morning. I would love to post so daily winnings, but oh wait -- I never win those!!!

:smt006 I love reading about what people win, and posting my congrats. to them, I believe sincerely wishing people well can bring good karma, just as I agree that lying about wins would bring bad luck or karma.

People who lie about wins probably lie about everything else in life too, so you just have to pity them.

SA is the best!!!
