Hello everyone!
So I am new at this sweeping thing. I expect alot of garbage from 3rd party companies trying to get into my wallet. But hey, it's just part of the game.
So tonight I am cooking the chicken on the grill to make a nice Chicken Caeser Salad for the family and I get a call right around 6PM on my cell phone ( which is what I enter with so all the phone calls don't bug my wife. )
Anyways. I answer the call while flipping my chicken over. I hate calls at dinner time. But you never know I might have won something big.
As we are all used to probably? The first half of the call sounded great. Then the second half of the call made me laugh.
The call was some guy from a marketing company who says that I am a valued member of some club I might have signed up for????? (I fill out so much stuff, how could I remember?) He said I was being rewarded a Men's Diamond Wrist Watch, and two / four year subscriptions to ESPN and some other magazine which I cannot remember. I was thinking COOL! So that's the first half!
Now the funny part!
Then he procedes to tell me that "All this stuff is yours" with a 4 year subscription to Car and Driver and Rolling Stone magazine. It will only cost you $3.97/week. Which he then says is only $16.00 a month. I said, that seems a bit high considering I just got 2 magazine subscriptions for $30 for 2 years, Paid in full. He then says, "but your getting 4 magazines instead of 2. I started laughing because he can't prove why his 4 magazines are better than my 2. So I said. Let's put it this way! This is while I'm on the grill. I said at $4 a week and $16 a month I'll be paying $192.00 per year for 4 magazines. He says yup, not bad huh! Then I said. And I have to pay that for 4 years. He said yes. I said, so it's gonna cost me $800 for 4 magazine subscriptions and a bad watch. He say, wow, your good at math. I said, yup! I'm also good at hanging up too!
