four C's

I read somewhere that you aren't a sweepstakes person unless you have won the 4 C's- which are supposed to be a car, cruise, cash and a computer, I guess. I'm curious has anyone actually done that? And do you thing that is still a something that could apply? I rarely see cruises, and I don't think I've seen computers unless ipads and laptops count. Maybe we should have new C's. Umm, I've won cards(gift), coupons....and I think I ran out of C's. Anyone got any better 4 C's that they won?

I have won a good amount of cash, and a computer (for my grandson back in the snail mail days) but have never won a car. I don't enter for cruises so if I win a car someday I still won't be a sweepstakes person, according to the original 4 C's.

I've won substantial amounts of cash, plus 1 Laptop and 1 Ultrabook. I love my HP Ultrabook. It's all solid state, no spinning disk in the hard drive. It was well worth paying the taxes on it's $1,000 ARV. Due to disability, I'll never win a trip as I can't go and therefor don't enter 'em. There's a large number of sweepers who, for various reasons, don't enter trips, so the competition is less and the odds of winning are better. A big ticket item like a vehicle attracts the most entrants, so the odds of winning one are extremely low. Very few people win a vehicle and the majority of us won't. That's not to say I don't try. I usually skip the highly modified/customized rides with high ARV's as there's a limited market for such vehicles and my intent would be to sell it.

Good post with things to ponder!

Here's another C - not as challenging or as high-end as the C's in the original statement, but a more realistic win - Candy!

How about Cell phone?

As to car, cruise, cash and computer - lots of mega sweepers don't enter for cruises, and as you noted, Computers are being replaced by laptops and iPads...based on the value of the other C's, I guess cash would be more than $500 or $1,000? What about $5 or $20? Does a prepaid $50 Visa card count as cash?

Maybe you're an average sweeper if you won the 4 Ts:

T-shirts
Tickets
Toy car
T______________??

Trinkets - aka sponsor labeled swag! :p

A sweeper is a sweeper if they say so. Some enter 5 sweeps a week, while others enter 400+ a day, every day!

Ummm . . . . . Trash?

:)

Well, I can do the 4 T's - I won a t-shirt, my husband won tickets from our local radio station, I won a toy, and trash or call it a trinket. I don't know if we can use candy and coupons for c because all my coupons have been for candy. I figured it didn't count as cash unless it was a check, but I did win a $25 gift card, so maybe that counts as cash....and a discounted cruise that everyone won, wonder if that counts....
