For those that enter 600+ sweeps per day

I enter 600+ sweeps a day - I'm thinking more like 800-900... I haven't won a big prize since I won a camcorder in December 2007. I've won a couple of decent prizes since then (a cell phone last July) and a Quick and Simple win in January of this year. I was just wondering if anyone else that's entering a lot of sweeps feels like they're not winning that much. I mean the Pace coupons have been really nice and back when I was winning the $5 Cheerios it was nice too, but that's not even happening lately. Are the sweeps companies looking at the "power sweepers"? I just really would like to feel like this is worth some of the time that I spend! Need some encouragement please - whining... needing some winning!

 I am so sorry to hear that you aren't winning. I'm still getting several wins a week, but nothing like I was a few years ago. Believe it or not, I have yet to even win a Pace coupon! I just keep plugging away and really enjoy the wins I do get. I really think that more and more people are sweeping and that does make are odds worse.

Blowing good luck wishes your way!

I enter around 400 per day and manage to hammer out at least 1-2 grand prizes each year so far (knock on wood.) I am getting at least on win per week and also think that more and more people are sweeping making it harder to win.

Have you tried entering early in the morning?

I'm entering right around the 600 a day mark & averaging about 2 wins a week. Lots of blogs & book wins, nothing big yet. Sorry to hear you're feeling discouraged. Thinking Happy Big Win Thoughts at you.

I've tried early in the AM, mid morning, afternoon, night.... everything. I am winning small prizes but the ends are not justifying the means at this point.

I would highly suggest trying some Blog sweepstakes. I have to test lots of sweepstakes forms everyday and I actually end up winning Blog sweepstakes and I'm not really trying to.. just testing them.

I have no complaints. We have been doing wonderful, and we just won another nice one two days ago. We just have been so blessed, and I am so grateful for all our blessings. :)

It mostly comes down to the odds and some luck.

More sweepstakes entries = more wins.

More sweepstakes entries on sites with fewer contestants = even more wins

Hey tlpounds, I probably enter around the same as you do. I've noticed over the last couple months the IW's has really slowed down for me...however, I've won several very nice dailys lately. I've also started blogging a little and have won 2 prizes in two weeks. I haven't won a GP yet, and my largest prize is the $750 Shaw rug. I've won some awesome prizes, a Wii, 5 Ipods last year, Gatorade year supply, 2 Video cameras, a camcorder, cash, GC's, makeup & lots and lots of other prize packs & great prizes. I have been getting a little down lately not winning on the IW's as often but then I have to stop and think of how blessed I've been winning all that I have. I've also noticed other people aren't posting as much either so I don't think it's just us. It could be the sponsors are extending the entry period and giving less prizes and just alot more people sweeping now...not sure, but that would be my guess. Hang in there girl! :headbang: That's what I love about this site, we can all be here for each other...when we win...and when we don't win (as much).

Hi tlpounds. I've been sweeping for 14 years and can tell you that you're not alone. For me, it was easier to win before the internet was introduced and your only option was mail-ins from the Sunday Paper and local sweeps. Believe it or not, I recently calculated that I enter 787 sweeps/day on average and 271,536 sweeps per year and in 14 years I have never won a grand prize, a trip or anything that I would consider a big win. Yet I've seen posts of people that won a trip or GP just 30 days after starting. Obviously luck has a LOT to do with it but it's also very apparent that the quantity of prizes per sweeps has dropped off dramatically over the last two years and the duration of the sweeps has been extended much longer. Add to that many more people playing, recession, much heavier advertising of existing sweeps, many more sweeping websites and newsletters, etc....and it's no wonder it's become very difficult to win. I always documented my wins on spreadsheets over the years and as it turns out the more I've been entering, the less I've been winning. Sweeping has been in my blood for years so I doubt I'll ever abandon it all together, however I will admit this is the first time ever that it feels like it's become more of a "chore" to me than a "hobby" and lately the ends certainly haven't justified the means. I will remain optimistic that if I persevere and continue playing long term, the tide will eventually turn. Don't give up.

i enter lots of sweeps aday and i think the sponsors are giving less prizes than they ever have before compare to last year and i think more people have the time to enter the sweeps.i use to win alot. now i won 3 instants this month compare to 8 or 9 a month a year ago.i just keep going thinking someday i will hit the big one.kandy

If you saw how many sweepstakes were offered online back when I started in 1998, you'd see how much less there were in sweepstakes and prizes back then compared to now.

What I've seen is an increase in the amount of sweepstakes there are and more and bigger prizes being given away.

My winnings have definitely increased steadily through the years. I didn't even start winning trips until six years ago--around eight so far.

I also don't believe there has been this sudden surge in the amount of people entering sweepstakes. Most people who even start entering sweepstakes usually get discouraged and end up quitting, and unemployed people can't afford to be taking the time to enter sweepstakes when many have to cut out internet service as a luxury and use the time they have to look for employment.

If you really need verification of how many people are playing sweeps, Marlboro sweepstakes is giving away over 1,000,000 prizes and has recently given away over 200,000 in a single day for a one day entry. To date, I've entered every Marlboro sweep every day and haven't won once. Not the ashtray, not the bottle opener, not the belt buckle and not the coffee. Safe to say that in order for that to happen, they likely received well over 1 million entries per day. That's a lot of people IMO.

And lets not compare 1998 to 2009. In 1997 16% of US households had internet access. In 1998 25%. In 2009 well over 90%. That 287 million people with access to online sweeps as opposed to 48 million. Simple supply vs demand scenario.

Certain sweepstakes will attract more people than others--people who don't normally enter sweepstakes. For example, the Monopoly sweepstakes that McDonald's has.

My comparisons are year by year since I started online sweeping. Each year, I have more and more sweepstakes that I am entering and winning more and more prizes, because each year there are more and more sweepstakes and more and more prizes.

I've won about eight prizes this past week--two pretty good ones too! :headbang:

TLPounds try doing the Allure freebies they are doing each weekday of August from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. You should be able to snag something there!

The two this past week are a prize package that includes two tickets and two meet and greet passes for "Heaven and Hell" (a.k.a. "Black Sabbath" with Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinnie Appice) and a $250 travel certificate! :)

:)Keep the Faith! Just finished a great book "The Secret". Just for the heck of it try some positive affirmations daily. I am going to win! See yourself enjoying the things you will win! You could even create a picture board of the things you will win. It cannot hurt and may bring some real luck your way. I am practicing this as well and very hopeful!

Funny story, a few years ago I went and played the daily #6959 all four exact for $1 and any order for $1. Got home and realized I actually played 6859 by mistake. Went back to the store convinced 6959 would win and this time played correctly. As I was leaving, I told the clerk what happened, and said to him "One of these #'s Better Win"!

OMG! You can imagine my amazement the next day when I found out I won on the mistake #. $4,270 to be exact. So luck does arrive when you EXPECT TO WIN! Best wishes for a nice win.

Wow lidarkside, we'd love to hear about some of your recent wins.

I just got my second prize notification today. So, it's up to nine! :thewave:

I don't believe in luck. I believe in blessings from God, and I have been so blessed in more than just winning prizes! :sunny:

Absolutely lidarkside...I'm a firm believer in God's grace & goodness. I too have been blessed exceedingly with many great prizes...I love giving them out as gifts and donations...it makes my day!
