FishbowlPrizes.com

I reached out to Fishbowl and they said that unless Fishbowl reached out to me, that we didn't actually win. They are looking into the matter. I would recommend that others who won reach out to them so that they know this vendor is not trustworthy.

tip; platforms like Facebook/Woobox/Twitter/etc just provide a platform [ie; HOST] for sponsors to hold a promo/giveaway

It looks like the individual sponsors are the ones who do the prize fulfillment on Fishbowl?

If so, then Fishbowl is similar to a BLOG - where a blog owner is given products/services to do a blog review & giveaway & the BLOG owner is the JA [Judging Agency] that draws winners & who to contact if sponsor fails to fulfill the prize(s) but the BLOG owner has to get the prize FROM the sponsor

I've also seen it when multiple sponsors do a giveaway where parts of the overall prize are fulfilled by the various sponsors and winners have had to ask for missing prizes from whomever ran the promo - ie; the HOST & JA

IF Fishbowl is the HOST & JA [provides the "place/site" to get a promo noticed by other than customers/newsletter subscribers & draws winners] then Fishbowl is who you'd contact if the sponsor fails to fulfill the prize(s)

HOWEVER - Fishbowl did not notify winners in this instance - the sponsor [DappersStyle.com] sent an *offer* to those who entered to win the promo they sponsored on Fishbowl prior to the promo ending

Interesting. I won the floating pillow from Fishbowl about a month ago and I didn't have to pay anything for my prize. They let me know I won and the pillow was here the next day. No shipping required or payment of any kind.

Not sure what to do with Fishbowl. We list their sweeps and some people are reporting legit prize wins while others have experiences like this.

For those of you wondering, I decided to risk $10 and "ordered" the watch. It actually arrived today - rather "a" watch arrived. Instead of a nice watch case like a $219 watch SHOULD come in, it was in a plastic bag with a peg hook hole at the top. CHEAP. If you ordered one, you will probably get one. If you didn't order after the "win notice", you saved $10 on a presumably counterfeit, crappy watch. It IS ticking, however tapping on it, it sounds hollow. There is no second hand to give away the tell-tale movement of a battery operated quartz watch, but you can tell. C'est la vie.

I also got the email from Dapper Styles about winning the Daniel Wellington watch. Not sure why, but my husband paid the $9.99 shipping. Watch came a few days ago from China and it's a knockoff....not even the one in the photo they had listed. It seems to be a decent watch and looks OK, but not a DW and certainly not worth $219.

This sweep has been removed and Fishbowl has banned the sponsor.

jnrrll427 - I merged your thread into this one so all info would be together

I just received an e-mail from DappersStyle.com that I won a Daniel Wellington watch worth $219 on a FishbowlPrizes.com giveaway. The expiration date of sweeps is 1/17/17 and today is 1/14/17. To claim the prize I must pay $9.99 shipping which makes me wonder how legitimate this is. I e-mailed them and they said: "To claim your prize which is worth $219 you need to pay just a shipping fee $9.99 only. So you paying just a 4% from total value of your prize just for a shipping." I'm still wondering if this is legit?

update...........:

if the watch is from a sweep that is sponsored by dappersstyle and hosted on fishbowl, other members have reported that this particular sponsor's prize is really a knockoff item. fishbowl prizes was informed of this by other memebers and they banned that sponsor. if you haven't already sent the shipping fee, you might want to consider not doing so.

Also, if you go to this sponsors website and check their "giveaway" tab, they have that same watch listed as a giveaway, but if you click thru, you'll see you can simply pay the shipping cost they'll send it to you. I don't think it's really a sweep if anyone can just go to their site and "buy" the prize for $10 shipping.

Just to be clear, this isn't a knock on fishbowl prizes, but on this particular sponsor, dappers. Here's the link to the discussion on the forum about this.
