feeling discouraged

I'm not going to tell anybody not to feel discouraged because we all do. Keeping going or not during a long dry is where the hardcore sweepers and the mere players show their mettle. This is not an easy hobby or meant for everyone.

YUP - in a loooooooooong dry spell myself & what keeps me going is remembering that I CAN win, and that I WILL win again!!! :crazytongue:



For those that haven't read this...

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize :laughing: - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!


Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!!

And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!! :headbang:

reading winner circle posts are making me feel bad. everyone is talking about how much they've won. i have been doing this for awhile. The dailies for just a couple months but expiring and instants for years! i hardly win anything! never anything over $50! years ago, when i first started sweeping i won a trip i had to decline. now nothing!

need some tips or something! what am i doing wrong? is everyone really using more than one addy for themselves?

I think we all have that moment of disappointment seeing someone has won something we had our hearts set on winning, but then that moment passes, and I for one am ALWAYS happy to see a fellow SA'er win!!!

As far as how much you win? It varies so much between sweepers, I don't use it as a gauge for how I'm doing - and I pay NO attention to how many I've entered {and won or lost from} or am entering unless someone asks.

Since I've seen so many posts where someone entered an unlimited 1x and won {and did it once myself} or a daily where they only entered 1x and won versus the rest of us entering every day, I never worry/think about anything else but making sure I'm following the rules and entering as often as allowed. Every win is a happy surprise, and every loss is but a blip, if i even am made aware of it - like an IW or seeing a winner post.

Whine, enter, post - repeat as necessary until you win again - it really DOES work!!! :laughing: :headbang:

i started doing sweeping again because i get bored and lonely while my baby naps. it gave me something to look forward to, but now I feel ike its hopeless if people are cheating and winning that way. somethings fishy. on winners pages, i notice that guys are often the winners. i just can't imagine men sitting on their computer for hours and continuing to play without some sort of advantage. My husband says that's sexist.. sorry. But he also admits he'd be cheating up a storm if I'd let him. I'm not saying all men cheat or only men can win. But I swear something's up. Maybe I just have a case of sour grapes! lol. I'm hoping that whining thing will bring me some more wins!! hahah! sorry for knocking you fellas! you're all probably a bunch of honest abes. (or are you??)

I gotta tell ya women far outnumber the men here. Atleast as far as posting goes. I dont believe for a second that cheating is a "man" thing. Some people just win more than others. Doesnt mean they are cheating. I may win more than others but I enter alot. I do not cheat! never have! never will!.. And it has nothing to do with me being a woman. Im sorry you havent been winning. I really am. I hate to see people entering and entering and not winning. We have some great guys here. Johnny, lee, jwjones102004 ,inthesticks, gorgor, just a few that come to mind and I dont think any of them cheat.

Anyone who cheats runs the risk of being DQ'd for future sweepstakes.

I'm just curious as to how people just "know" others are cheating without knowing any of these people and without any proof! :scratch: People should just let the sponsor worry about that. They're the ones who decide what cheating is and in making sure that anyone who is cheating is disqualified. In general, it always seems that everyone has their own ideas of what cheating is which seems to cover a much broader area than what the sponsor deems cheating! :error: I say everyone should stop worrying about it and trust the sponsor to do their part.

Obviously you've never seen guys playing online games. Guys just get major OCD about stuff. My roommate's Oblivion Mods take days and days and are just insanely complex. If I could get him to sweep more.... :headbang:
