Yesterday the Cartoon Network had a Looney Tunes marathon all day. And being the kinda guy I am ... I just had to watch it! And LO AND BEHOLD I got to see my favorite cartoon!

.... drum roll, please ....

"What's Opera Doc?"

A TRUE Classic! Here is Bugs and Elmer! Engaged in their ultimate encounter! All set to the Opera music of Wagner! A true epic! The Norse Gods are lined up for the opening night's performance!!

"Kill the Wabbit! Kill the Wabbit! Kill The Wabbit!"

The opening scene reveals Elmer on his age-old quest!

But the Gods intervene! Elmer is deluded! And Bugs stampedes down from the heights of Valhalla in Valkerie "drag"....

... upon a TRUE Operatic horse! (possessing the generous operatic curves the animators were unable to give Bugs!)

Upon which Elmer proceeds to pitch woo to Bugs. But! Alas! In the grip of Elmer's passion: Bug's helmet falls off and into the abyss. Revealing his true identity!

"Kill the Wabbit! Kill The Wabbit! Kill the Wabbit!"

Unfortunately, as in all the classic Norse Epics: Bugs is slain by the inevitable intervention by the Gods!!!!!

The slain Bugs is then tearfully carried by the "triumphant", yet shattered, Elmer out of the scene ...

(the only time Elmer ever won )

THA .... THA .... THA .... THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

Nah! That's not all!!! Bugs opens his eyes and says to the audience, "What did you expect from an Opera ... ?"

Bugs made cross dressing social acceptable :booty"

My favorite line of all times is one I use to my kid "Ah ha! Pronoun problem"

It's from Daffy from the "No, it's Duck Season" "Rabbit Season" with Bugs and Elmer.

Loren, ever see the one where the Coyote catches the Road Runner and holds up the sign saying "Now what do I do?" lol

My kids are well acquainted with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, but they don't know the classics. At first they were annoyed that CN was running "boring old" cartoons. A few minutes later they were hooked. My daughter especially liked the one with Bugs Bunny and Baby Face Finster. "Finsta! Oh, Finsta, Bay-bee!"

I was always partial to the Flintstones and their futuristic counterparts, the Jetsons! :headbang:

I love the classics (bugs, Flintstones, Jetsons, etc.) but, there are some newer cartoons out that I love also. Mainly the movie cartoons.

Gotta love Bugs, but some of the newer cartoons are pretty good too. Anyone remember The Animaniacs? This parody of Barney is still hysterical:

Of the shows still in production, I'll admit that I like Nickelodeon's "The Fairly Oddparents". One of my favorite bits is the one where the parents keep intruding on the kids while loudly announcing, "I'm respecting your privacy by knocking, but asserting my authority by coming in anyway!"

Love Yakko, Wakko, and Dot! Not to mention Pinky and the Brain!! So well written and quick witted!

Scooby Doo was always my favorite (as long as it didn't have Scrappy in it)! I wasn't a Bugs Bunny type girl ~ and don't get me started on The Smurfs :cussing:

Out of the cartoons that my kids watch I love Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

There is a Tiny Toons movie called 'How I spent my Summer Vacation' and it is really funny. I am not a big Tiny Toons fan, but I loved this movie!!
