"Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void"

I've seen a lot of discussion regarding the use of Roboform and other methods other than idividual character keystroke to fill in forms, yet it seems that much confusion remains. An increasing number of sweeps now include in the rules the phrase: "Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void"

Does anyone have any experience with a sponsor authority or sweepstakes official that gives a reliable definition to the words "SCRIPT" and "MACRO" as they relate to sweepstakes entries?

Also...in the tips and tricks section of Sweepatakes Advantages-how to play sweepstakes guide,it reads. "When filling out a form manually Windows Internet Explorer offers a double click option. Where previously entered information can be clicked into place. This can avoid excessive manual typing when filling out a promotional form. Best to always double click before you type to make sure." Is this considered to be Macro or script?

I use roboform for everything unless it is flash since most flash entries won't allow you to use robo. From what I understand, roboform doesn't count as automated, macro, etc.

....Maybe if you emphasize that scripting languages require one to actually write some code and create a computer program whereas Roboform is just a form filler (no coding required or possible) you could persuade people that Roboform is not using scripts or macros.
Scripts and Macros are pieces of user written programming code written in a language that is a part of another application. Some of these languages are very general and allow the user to write programs that will do almost anything. One example is JavaScript which is part of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Other ‘mini-languages’ are designed to enable the user to code up a small set of operations which are specific to the application and which enable the use to refer to the whole set of actions by a single word or character A macro. An example of this type is the macro generating feature of Microsoft Word. Still another type is the language of the ELDER SCROLLS CONSTRUCTION KIT which players of the computer game Morrowind use to make modifications to the game they are playing...."

And if you need help sleeping, ask my roommate about physics....

I've never used Roboform because I have form fill on my internet explorer and autofill on my google toolbar from mozilla firefox... I don't think I've ever been disqualified. I've won a few that have said that and got the prizes.

Autofill programs are typing aids, that's all. You're still going to the sponsor's site and seeing what they have to offer. That's what the sponsor is aiming for. What they don't like are 'bot programs that crawl around the web filling out forms for you without you ever entering their site. As I understand it, 'bots can't handle filling in security codes, which is why so many entry forms have them. It's another way to make sure a human has filled out the form.
