Did I really win that BMW X6?

I have been hit with so many emails saying congratulations, that I find it difficult to believe that I may have won it.
2 big reasons to question it.
1 The sweeps ended on 10/23/2011 and I was notified on 11/01/2011.
2 The form looked like a notebook attachment .
Not holding my breath but I'll know in a few days.

Do you remember entering for a BMW? Did you enter thru SA? and if so, did you find it in the expired sweeps? Did they address you by name? Are they sending an affy? Was the email from a company you have heard of before and if not, did you google them? It would be great if you won but be careful! good luck!

I did a search of the expired sweeps on SA and did not see anything that expired on 10/23 for BMW. Also, did search and did not see anything for a BMW X6. That doesn't mean it isn't real, but I certainly question them sending you an affy for a vehicle over e-mail. I have never won a car myself, but from what I hear people are usually notified by phone and then affy fed x or UPS to them. They may not be notified by phone and just affy sent Fed X or UPS too. It would be odd for it to be in an e-mail, but not impossible I guess. I would be cautious to give out SSN and/or bank information if they are asking for it.

I won a car last year and they notified me via e-mail and gave me 3 days to have it back to them or they would pick an alternate winner. I never received anything FedEx or a phone call. I would be cautious too since there are not too many BMW given away, but I hope your win is true!

:sunny: Can you c/p a copy of the letter here so we can see it. Then we can be more certain of whether your email is real or not.

have been getting alot of congratulations email lately too...they know we sweep so use that lead in..you would probably remember a bmw sweep but it would be great if it was true!!!

I truly wish that it were so but after doing a cursory check using Google I came across the following link - it appears that particular car is used in a lot of scams, and the probablility is high that it is a scam ... apparently similar scams using BMW autos have been going on for years ... please post the email without identifying characteristics such as your email so we can evaluate it ... better yet, I'd recommend copying (by using the Cut feature) certain sections of that email, opening Google and pasting into the search text box, enclosing it in double quotation marks and seeing if others have been scammed with the same email. I always do that when I suspect a fraud, as others will post their emails online warning others of the scam, which is pretty darned nice of them

p.s. Btw, your reason for doubting the legitimacy of the win as stated here is not valid: "1 The sweeps ended on 10/23/2011 and I was notified on 11/01/2011"

I know because many. MANY sweeps take far longer to actually pick a winner - I won a Playboy Mansion trip last year and was notified on Dec. 29th, yet the sweeps ended on Nov. 15. I did attend the Kandyland party this past June and I can verify that indeed they were real - well, maybe not ALL of them :)
