Did anyone ever win on Omaze with free entry?

I've seen speculation on the internet about how free entries for Omaze are not real since every free entry is basically worth $100/2000 entries (which doesn't make sense, why not give just one entry?). So I wonder if anyone has experience with winning anything on Omaze without actually donating money?

They are supposed to be legitimate entries, but I would be interested to hear if anyone has won without paying as well!

Yes they are.

I know many people who have won based in free entries alone, including myself.

I know people who won the big prizes like a fancy car and $20k but I personally won the the secondary prize in one of the orient express giveaways. It was for a set of TUMI luggage, but I accepted the $2500 cash value!

That's good to know. I feel a bit cheated though, because I've been paying for entries and apparently my measly 500 entries which cost me $50 is competing with millions of free entries. There has to be a catch here somewhere...

Well, I think the idea is that if you pay, you're also donating to some sort of cause, so the idea is that doing so isn't simply a contest entry. If you're paying simply because of the contest, yeah, you may want to give consideration as to whether or not you're really getting value for your money.

If I'm not mistaken, everyone is limited to "6,000 entries" or basically 3 entries in all. I don't believe these are unlimited entries whether you donate money or not.

Congrats! How did they contact you about your win if I may ask?

That is my understanding & what I do as well, but I last looked into it a long time ago.
