I can't find the thread about people on dial-up so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place.


I seem to find that if I call my computer (landline #) from my cell phone before logging on I can log on at a faster rate. Seems to clear the line for some reason. :scratch:

Try it.... hope it helps!
 
Another trick, if you can get to it, is to plug the phone line from the computer into the plug on the box outside-this bypasses all the house wiring. You'll have to run the phone cord out the window so this may not be practical, but it does help a teeny bit.
 
Odd, I will have to try that tip. I never seem to get anymore than 52 kbps at any given time. Drives me nuts!! Wishing they would run cable lines out here.
 
With all the satelite dishes in our yard, it looks like we're trying to find evidence of alien life. :laughing: And with the high clouds of ice crystals tonight I keep loosing signal...
 
We can't get satelite without a $400 deposit. I told them to keep they're cable, lol. If only they would run regular cable lines out here like they are doing in some of the rural areas. I hope they do soon.
