CUT AND PASTE QUEENS

See I feel guilty when I don't have time to go in and write everyone a personal note...I haven't been posting hardly any lately anyway...I don't have time:(

Ditto!!! I so agree with this statement!! Everyone here is soooo nice to congratulate me even on my smallest of wins and I so want to reply back to everyone...However I just don't have the time. There are so many winners here that if I were to congratulate them all I would never be able to enter the sweeps...

With that, I will now say to all winners (past/present and future): Congratulations!!! And...To those who have yet to win I wish you nothing but good luck :)

Ok, I am all about congratulating members in the winners circle. I wish I had more time to do it. But, I always viewed the mailman alert forum to be just that, announcing what came in the mail to alert others that the prizes/freebies/coupons were on the way. It's more of an informative area and not the place to announce wins.

So, in my opinion, wins should be announced in the winners circle and the congratulations should be in the winners circle thread. The mailman thread should be to announce the arrivals of prizes and a place for questions if people haven't received theirs yet...

OK...I am confused here.....I rec'd an unexpected win in the postal mail the other day and I posted about it in the mail section...My post was moved into the winner's section  What did I do wrong???? Yes it was a win...However it came unexpectedly by way of postal mail...It wasn't an instant win or a win notification by way of an email...So my question for future reference is: When you receive an unexpected win via way of postal mail...Where should this be posted?? Seems it could go in either the mail thread and or the winner's thread...I just chose the mail thread as it was an unexpected win by way of postal mail...I saw where someone else posted about an unexpected win they rec'd via postal mail and they posted in the mail thread and their post was not moved to the winner's thread???

Please offer some clarification on this as I don't want to upset the flow of the forum...Thank-You :)

I certainly like knowing when folks are getting unexpected wins via mail. It lets me know when to start checking the bushes/steps/porch more carefully. Not that I ever win anything  Thank you for posting. Hopefully someone will clarify the post location issue. :sunny:

The "Mailman Alert" section is a heads up for other members to keep an eye on their mailbox for when prizes start being sent out either from sweepstakes that have just ended or for members that already know they won and to give them an idea of when to expect them.

If you received a surprise win, and you're posting to let people know you won, you should be posting it in the "winners' circle".

Mailman Alert = An FYI that prizes are being sent out

Winners' Circle = Announcing a win

I think it's great when people congratulate each other. It's nice to see how kind SA members are. I don't always congratulate everyone but I try some days.

I guess it's exciting to win and it's great that others can celebrate with you.

I didn't know that, thanks for clarifying.

Announcement of wins should be made in the winners circle. If it is from a contest that has many prizes you can put an alert in the mail forum.

Most people check the winners circle for announcement of wins. They do it for many reasons. Obviously, they do it to offer congratulations, maybe some to scowl because you won the prize they wanted  but many actually check it to see if there are winners from certain sponsors to gage whether or not to keep entering the contests. Most only check the mail forum to see what prizes are coming in like instants, or freebies... contests with a lot of prizes so they know when to keep an eye on the mail.

Hope that helps

Can they be deleted out of the COMMENTS of the new sweeps listed then? I hate having to search through post and posts of 'I WON A FLOWER ARRANGEMENT' just to find a code or UPC code. :cussing:

When someone wins something, it doesnt need announced on the whole dang board! One thread is enough

The moderators can't do that. A lot of people do post the time that they won also to try to set up a pattern if there is such a thing...

lots of members never make it to the forums. They only post in the comments. sometimes it is helpful to see what times people are winning.

hairbandgirl - do you ever use the Note feature? It's perfect for posting those UPC's/codes - tip: hit enter a few times before and after posting to make it REALLY stand out!!! :headbang:

Huh, I've been doing it wrong then :nono: - I figured a surprise win that showed up in the mail belonged in the mail forum to give those that entered a heads up!!! :crazytongue:

Thanks Amyshulk for the info on the notes section. I will use that now for my codes! The one that is most annoying for me is the NWA one right now because I have to go back into my email to get my member# and then back into sweeps. I know, minor issue, but it's enough to be annoying....

So this should work for me, thanks!

I write my codes down on a lined Post-It note stuck to the bottom of my computer screen so it's right there in front of my face, or you could memorize it! :crazytongue:

I have enough trouble remembering daily things--with two toddlers running around, I am lucky if I remember to shower....I think my "pregnancy brain" that everyone talks about has extended itself into my mom-hood (though I am not one of those lucky people who just "forgets to eat" unfortunately). Perhaps I'll go with a post it note....

I have a 16-year-old, 14-year-old, 4-year-old, and a 1-year-old--I WIN! :crazytongue:

There are many uses for duct tape you know!

I love the note section for this! I just put my info on there then copy it when I get to that sweep ~ put it in and move right on along! It couldn't be any easier. I never have to worry about losing it that way or my kids running off with it...

Most excellent!! I do love it when my fave feature gets props!!! :headbang:
