Changes Coming

In the next several months we will be making some new features available for Plus subscribers. The first will be the ability to remove specific sweepstakes from search results by keyword. The 2nd will be a way to individually remove sweepstakes from category pages. We are already working and testing this in our development environment.

A bigger change for both websites will be a total site redesign for both sites to make them more easier to use in both mobile and desktop environments. We are calling this our 25th anniversary edition sweepstakes design as we have been online for 25 years!

There have been some smaller changes and fixes already published as well.

If you have any other ideas, please post about them here. Thank you!

Last night we released a fix that created a 2nd problem with links in the newsletter. Both problems have been corrected. Sorry for any confusion.

I have an idea! And I might be missing this when browsing because I am new and so far I'm just a regular user, but what about a section for sweeps that require purchases? I've been looking for a resource that has them all together so I can compile lists when I go to the store and pick up lots of things at once, so far haven't found anything like that. Could be an interesting perk for plus members if it isn't already a thing? Thanks. :)

sweeps that require purchases? ... If I'm not mistaken, there is a law that says there has to be an alternate way to enter w/o requiring a purchase. Sometimes they will offer an alt. mailed-in entry, but than you have to pay the cost of a stamp [ soon to be 63c ]+ envelope [ correct size ] + correct size paper/card insert. ... ALERT ... stamp prices, etc go UP on Jan 22nd ... Buy now.

suggested by a member: Adding a drop down menu that has different categories of prizes to look through, such as, cash, gift cards, cars, houses, etc.

We made lots of progress on the new coming options that will allow you to not show certain sweepstakes in search results based on keyword and also the new hide listing feature. Both are working in our development environments for SA and Plus. We have more testing to do but this is a big step forward and appears to be keeping us on schedule. More to come soon!

As a paid member, how's about ditching the nag screen asking me to support SA by turning off my ad blocker? I support SA...I log in as PLUS member(and have for a few years now). I don't chat much, but I've been a member for almost 12 years now and I'm not a fan of this and the intermittent redirects I'm coming across when entering some of the sweeps listed here. I'd like to know with those sweeps if the multiple redirects have to do with malicious malware...or deliberately inserted with the intent of generating advertising impressions for your 'partner'.

Thanks for being a Plus subscriber all those years. Nag screen? We don't have a Nag Screen. I'm a little puzzled by that. *If you login to www.sweepstakesplus.com there are actually no banner ads at all. I can also tell you there are no redirects with Malware. If you use the current version of Firefox or Google Chrome they have anti-phishing and Malware protection built in. I personally use these 2 web browsers to protect me anywhere on the web. If you find a specific sweep you want us to look into please use the "Report Problem" option located below each listing. As a side note our members use this option to report any problems and we resolve any issues very quickly. The new Hide a Sweep feature coming out very soon will allow you to Hide Sweeps Listings you rather not see or enter. Hope that makes sense.

The next time I see the 'nag screen' asking me to support SA by turning off my ad blocker, I'll take a photo of it. That's been intermittent, but I have seen it. It's not a figment of my imagination...and I *am* logging in through the correct website. As for redirects...I just experienced one with one of the sweeps just entered through here. I used *this* link directly from SA for the WOOM sweepstakes (https://www.sweepsadvantage.com/sweepstakes-1262738.html). I was redirected to media.newsprogrammatic.click (the url is longer), then rsvtrck.com (a longer URL again...just shortening it for here), then shareasale-analytics.com, then finally woom.com. I copied and pasted the SA link several times. A couple times it only redirected to to the shareasale-analytics before landing at woom.com.

This is not the only sweep this has happened on.. This hasn't happened with all the sweeps I've entered, but it *is* happening...and it's only sweeps I've opened/entered through here. I have a friend who does IT security for a living (he set up my laptop and desktop) check to make sure there's nothing janky going on with my laptop, and it's not me. I copied and pasted the link into Chrome and Firefox as well as Brave. In Brave, the redirects also included searchshockwaves and discounthero. Typing the URL into Chrome on my phone I saw shareasale before the woom website popped up.

If you can get the nag screen shot from sweepstakesplus.com that would be great. There are no banners on that website so we want to be sure what you are seeing is accounted for. We would then try to reproduce what you are seeing and remedy or explain what is going on. The redirect you are mentioning is an affiliate redirect. This is not Malware or phishing. If it were, Chrome or Firefox would block it. The only security concern is that it may drop a cookie. You can actually manage cookies in your web browser if it is a concern. Thank you.

Loving this site....New here, so may not have fully appreciated all of this sites abilities :).... How about having the ability to sort sweeps by catagories, such as "trips", "cash", "pets", "home decor" etc. I tried searching this way, but only a couple of sweeps come up when I type "trips"

From the main page if you click on “Show More” under the popular sweeps categories, you can browse sweeps by prizes and also by popular destinations. Hope this helps!

Another update on the hide sweeps and negative words search feature. We made some big progress this past week and we are in the final phase of testing! Hopefully we are less than a week from release.

Another update on the status of the upcoming changes. Everything is tested and working in our test environment but we need to make sure we can quickly roll things back if there are any problems. Due to this we've had to engineer a new release system which has pushed up the release date for the changes. Looks like we should be ready to release before the end of this month. Thank you for your patience.
