CFA Promo - Scratch, Bake & Win
I won a $1,000 Visa Card on the Scratch Bake and Win contest. I matched 3 Fleischman's yeast logos and printed the screen saver which said clearly that I won the $1,000 visa card. I received an email from them which says on it that I won (pending verification) and it also said I won the $1,000 visa card and that my documents would be sent out in the next several days by express delivery. This was October 14, 2008. I didn't hear anything and I wrote them an email today asking if there was anything I needed to do. A man named Mark Cohen says that only winning in their "game server" was proof that I won. He wrote back and said I didn't win the $1,000 visa card, but only a pyrex dish set. I wrote back and said I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Is there anything else I can do besides notify you at Sweepstakes Advantage. I enter all of my contests through Sweepstakes Advantage and have several very good wins. Sincerely,
Rebecca Sutton
UPDATE:
I see since I posted this that other people have had the same thing happen to them. I want to point out that I did get a confirmation email stating that I won the $1,000. It was only when I wrote back to them by hitting "reply" to the email that Mark Cohen wrote back and said he would "check into it". He then wrote back and gave me a time and date (on their server) on which I won a pyrex set. It was about 25 minutes after the time on my confirmation email from them. He even suggested that the confirmation email I attached had been altered in some way. He thought it was a screen shot. It wasn't. I looked up the telephone number for the sponsor of the contest and talked to a lady named Trish at the phone number 1-800-247-5251. She was very nice, took down in detail everything I said and I would suggest that all of the other people on this site that have similar problems call her and give her their stories, too. If they know there is a problem, maybe they will shut down the contest until "Cohen and associates get their act together.
UPDATE 12/04/2008
I did receive something by UPS yesterday. It was a $500.00 gift card. I guess they wanted to split the difference by giving me half of the actual win. In any case, I am satisfied with the outcome. I wasn't about to try and get an attorney or anything (too expensive) and I am relieved it is all over. They also said I would still receive the pyrex set at the end of the sweepstakes.
