Cancelling Mailing List Entry

I enter a lot of sweepstakes. Now, I'm getting a lot of emails from them. I realize that some are necessary validation emails, but how do I handle the rest. Some emails have a standard opt out option on the email itself. How about those that don't? What's the best way to opt out of emails.

:sunny: One thing about sweeping, it generates lots of emails. All emails should include an opt out option. Follow those links.

I have noticed that when I opt out of some emails my name is removed from that particular sweepstake I entered.

Exactly. That's one of the first things I read on one of the emails. It said that if I opt out of their emails, I would no longer be eligible for the sweepstakes. Therefore, I have not started to opt out of them.
Incidentally, it is now 7 days of all out sweepstaking with no results.

I wait until the sweepstakes is over THEN I opt out. If they can't choose me as a winner then I don't want their stinkin' emails. lol

I hope this is significant. I just got my first "You did not win" email. (wonder how many notify you of not winning?) Maybe my first "Your a winner" email will be coming soon. And, it did not have an opt out option.
It is now 9 days of "full tilt" sweepstaking with NO wins.

Nine days of sweeping isn't much. Many people enter hundreds of sweeps daily for months before winning. Others win something after a week or two. If you are eager just to win something you may want to look for sweeps with lots of prizes and a short running period, or try some of the blogs if you like the prizes.

If you browse the forums, you will see all kinds of questions and answers, and you may be especially interested in the Newbie forum. One thing you will come across again and again is "patience and persistence." If you continue with this hobby, you will need those qualities.

About the "You did not win" email, I haven't seen too many of them.

Congrats!

This is my first win! I won the 7th prize in the QuickenLoans.com Thanks A Million Instant Win Sweepstakes. I will get one year of fee credit monitoring from Quizzle.

Actually, I have some experience. In the middle eighties I did postal sweepstaking for about a year. I sent 7 letters to 7 sweepstakes for their last month. I did this for a year or more. Only won one significant amount. A $50 dollar value prize. Also subscibed to a paper sweepstakes newsletter.
