Can I ask a question about Phone calls?

So if you win something and they contact you by phone....Will they leave a message? or are you supposed to answer the phone everytime it rings?? LOL....I started answering it because most of the calls are private or numbers I don't recognize. One of them was Bassmasters trying to sell me something...Any suggestions or comments from past expereince? Thanks!
 
I have only gotten calls from bassmasters, diamond resorts, and one to tell me I won something. If you tell bassmasters no thank you they stop calling.
 
I think it really depends on the sweepstakes. Some sweepstakes will explicitly state in the rules that they will attempt to call you a certain number of times but that no message will be left. Other sweepstakes will leave a message and let you know that you have to get back to them within a certain amount of time. It seems like most win notifications occur by email, mail/ups etc. or they just appear.

I've seen some people who use google voice instead of giving out their personal phone number.
