Camel Win & Question

My mom and boyfriend both won on camel sweepstakes today, and it looks like they changed the cards to Visa cards (not Mastercard like I got). That being said my mom tried to redeem for Walmart, and my boyfriend tried to redeem for Best Buy, both were declined. I told them to look at the history to see what the stores tried to authorize and both were about 4.5% higher than the gift card amount. I am so confused as I was able to redeem at both of these places no problem with my mastercard I got from camel. Does anyone have any insight?
 
I won $50 and it would not work the day I won, but did work the next day. Maybe it will work for them tomorrow or later today
 
The cards will not work on purchases over the amount of the purchase. You need to pay the difference before you use the card. By the way congratulations on your wins. Very nice.
 
yes i know the problem! tell the cashier to put in the exact amount of money and then swipe the card...if they are buying more than whats on the card it will decline instead of telling them how much more they owe!

i had won a 20.00 mastercard on camel,and it would not work,so i called camel talked to them,and then it went through.i bought some schwans food products online,and then they delivered it to my door.

willow. having the same problem. contact Up2Urewards to start the process. this is listed if you go to your "swag" and click on 'MY E-CODES'. they will then send you this e-mail: "Greetings, OUR CARD PROCESSOR CURRENTLY IS UNABLE TO LOAD VIRTUAL CARDS. AS A RESULT, IF YOU REDEEMED YOUR REWARD IN THE LAST 24-36 HOURS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SPEND THE MONEY OFF OF YOUR VIRTUAL CARD AT THIS TIME. YOUR MONEY IS SAFE AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO USE YOUR VIRTUAL CARD. THE CARD PROCESSOR IS WORKING DILIGENTLY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. PLEASE CHECK BACK IN 24 HOURS FOR AN UPDATE." I still can't use it yet, but at least they are working on the issue.
 
Thanks everyone for your replies here is a little more info. My mom won $25 and she is trying to get a $25 walmart card, free shipping and order total says $25 but card was declined. When you go in the history for uprewards it looks like walmart tried to authorize $26.11, that's why it was declined, same situation for Best Buy, not sure why they are trying to authorize it for more than what the order is for.

Sounds like for some reason transaction fees are being charged. I saw on another online forum where others are having the same issue.

Are you sure they are supposed to be visa. tell them to try it as a mastercard and process again. It will deny if you have the wrong card type also. I did that once. Put visa and they had given me a master card.

leelee9878 - Did you contact Camel about it? I was reminded to check my swag & saw a prize in there I didn't know I won, and when I contacted them, they were apologetic {a really long time had passed so it had expired} BUT, they mailed me a *bunch* of $2 off a pack coupons to make up for it!!!
 
I read on a different board that for some reason the funds are being converted to CND, don't know how true it is. My boyfriend emailed them today, I am going to wait for a response before instructing my mom to do something.
