BMW/ home guest house sweep

Tracey,

My husband, Bob, is really "up" for it. :headbang:

I have been to St. Charles once - in 1993 when one of my sons graduated from high school, and it was in May or June. Since you live not an hour away from the casino, what is the weather like this week? Is it snowing? Does Bob have to "bundle up" to get to the casino? He doesn't know anyone there.

And, Bob received a second email from BMW/home guest sweep today (Tuesday), and he RSVPd again. Does that mean that this is a scam? I really hope not - we made the train and rental car reservations last night

Oh, I am soooooo excited, even if the odds are not really great! And, Bob will get to play poker before and after the contest - when we go to a casino (any casino!), I am a "poker widow."

Well hope you all win it, my Dad won a convertible a few years ago at a drawing at a casino in Indiana. Just had to be there for drawing and was.

sooooooooooooooooooo

Well, Bob is going to the train "as we speak." Amtrak will probably be late, but the train is scheduled of a morning arrival Thursday, so it is a good bet that Bob will be able to get to the hotel/casino in time for the 7:30 p.m. contest (I hope!).

What has me worried is all of the RSVPs from BMW Home Guest sweep...there have been 4 or 5 of them so far! I really don't want this to be a "scam" :nono:

Bob and I share the same computer - he has his own computer, but we both enter the contests from mine through SA and we both have multiple accounts through Yahoo. It's complicated (he has his own business on his computer, so I don't use his computer). :crazytongue:

Well, it's time to get on to my contests through SA - coffee on the table right next to me and my fingers limbered up :headbang:

I live just outside Kansas City, MO and received both a phone call and multiple emails notifying me of my status as a finalist. I'm curious why I would receive FIVE identical emails. Are they sending these to all entrants until they get their confirmed RSVPs. Are they skewing the odds? Also both the fellow who called and the emails told me the event was on March 13! Hmmmm.. something odd about this!

It was near 70 here today. very nice weather.

I also got a call and multiple emails. I was told 13th and 7:30 both over the phone and in the emails. Im not sure why we keep getting them.

Tracey and psellis,

After my brother put Bob on the Amtrak train to St. Louis (the train left at 9:39 a.m. here in Austin), we got another one (!) of the BMW/home guest house sweep RSVP. Bob was gone, so I answered:

[Marianne,

My husband, Robert McVey (Bob), is on the Amtrak train from Austin, Texas and he should be in the St. Louis/St. Charles area by tomorrow morning. He RSVP'd to the invitation a couple of times. (We both share a computer to enter the sweepstakes/contests - my husbabd has his own computer, but it is for his software business.)

I really hope I am emailing a live person, and not a computer-generated email!

Regards,
Kate McVey

Then, I called the hotel/casino, hoping it wasn't a "scam" or I sent Bob off on a "fool's errand." I spoke to a "real live person" - his name was Rick - and he assured me that SOMEONE would drive off in that BMW tomorrow night :sunny: When I asked if there were live poker rooms in the casino, Rick answered yes. :headbang:

And a little while ago, I received an email:

Subject: Re: BMW Sweepstakes RSVP
Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 11:30:09 -0500
From: "Moore, Marianne" <[email protected]> Add Mobile Alert
To: [email protected]
I do have his RSVP

So, Marianne is a "real, live person" as well!

So, I feel better now :blob:

And, thanks, Tracey for giving me that weather update. Bob will be so surprised when he gets there...he won't need the coat and gloved I foisted on him! Bob will be happy in the casino, where he can play poker until his heart's content

Hi All!

Well, Bob is in St. Charles, MO and he is in the AmeriStar Casino, awaiting "with bated breath" to go into the contest in the hotel (the nightclub/restaurant doesn't open until 4 or 5 p.m.)....well, he will play "live" poker before the contest begins (not video poker).

Here's hoping Bob will drive home in the BMW :sunny: If he doesn't, I hope some other SA member will :headbang:

Kate

Hi All!

Bob called again, about 5:30 p.m., and he said that there is an alternative to winning the BMW - you can either take the BMW or $27,500.00. The BMW is "priced" at $45,000.00 - but it depends on if you want a BMW or not  The BMW is more expensive when you figure in the taxes and license and all :crazytongue:

Kate

I didnt. The odds were even better than I hoped and I still didnt win  I bet maybe only 200-300 people showed and they didnt do it like they said they would. When ya came in they wrote your name on a ticket and thats what they drew from. oh, and it did not start at 7:30.. they didnt draw the name until almost 11:00.. :cussing: They said they were waiting on more people who rsvp'd.... well, they should have been here at 7:30 like the rest of us. You couldnt go into the casino. you had to wait in this very, very loud club listening to this music that was giving me a headache. Im a headbanger alright. I dont like music with so much base I can feel it in my bones. :nono: anyway, It doesnt matter. If I had won It wouldnt have bothered me I guess. It was something different for sure.

Bob didn't win, either  He said in a phone call all the things Tracey said, and more. Oh well......

But, it was a good trip for him anyway - it forced him to relax :headbang: He's on his way home, now, taking the bus this time (Amtrak didn't work - the schedules were off kilter). If he had won, he would have taken the cash and been taking an airplane ride.....

Kate

Man, I was really rooting for one of you guys to win.. At least, you got that far. Is Idol next for you guys? :crazytongue:

 Bummer, I was so hoping to hear that we had a winner. At least you got to participate. Better luck next time!
