Autumn Candles

With Autumn almost here I want to switch out my Summer candles for more season-oriented candles(or liquid potpourri). I want to buy multiple candles so I'm looking for some "cheaper" candles. I plan on buying one huge Yankee in Pumpkin Pie, but I want some cheaper, pumpkin-y-smelling ones to name a few. Target and Wal-Mart seem to not have them in yet or don't have any of them, period. I found some at Kohl's but all they have are the pillar candles.

I need autumn-scented, cheap(no more than $5), jar candles. Scents such as pumpkin, apple pie, autumn leaves, etc. and/or liquid potpourri in the same scents. Can anyone suggest another retail store or shop? No on-line shops, please.

Cracker Barrel used to have some that were wonderful...they were over by the Yankee candles, but they were a different brand and cheaper. They are made from soy ~ they have weird names like Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways pie and such, but they had a pumpkin pie one. I love ones with a cinnamon base to it.

You might look to see if the schools are having any fund raisers also ~ our had candle sales for $5.00 a couple of years ago and they were a really good candle also. I hated the candles by the time I got done working that sale, but they did smell very good!

Oh I forgot about Cracker Barrel! Thanks!! I'm looking forward to the school fundraisers that sell them. I buy like 10 at a time

I'm sure somoene will complain but Walmart has some nice candles according to my cheap sister. Pumpkin pie, gingerbread and a few others.

I know there are "walmart haters" so I tread on that carefully

wal mart does have some good ones. Cracker Barrel is kinda pricey.. like yankee candle. I get mine from walmart, family dollar, big lots..

I love Wal-Mart so no hatin' here LOL That's where I usually get my candles, but I haven't found a good pumpkin one there yet. I do get the Home Trends Baked Apple Pie from there, though. I'd like to find some liquid potpourri in Pumpkin as well but can't find it anywhere.

I haven't checked the candle or liquid potpourri section in a week so maybe I'll go and check there again. I'm a tad picky so that may be my problem. If it says it smells like pumpkin pie I expect it to smell like pumpkin pie and not just another "spicey" scented candle.

My MIL got me these pumpkin mousse tarts from some huge outdoor flea market that I absolutely love a little over a year ago. I'd rather knock out all of my teeth and cut out my tongue before I talk to her, though. Maybe I will get hubby to do it

A couple of winters ago, I bought these for $6.99 each and loved them

$8.99 is still a great price for the size(16oz.), level of scent, and longevity of their candles. I may go through them again. I just wanted to avoid shipping costs.

BTW, they were comparing their candles to Yankee and I will say that they are every bit as good as Yankee, just cheaper. I believe I bought a pecan pie and a blueberry.

I know you said that you were looking for cheaper candles so I'll just throw this in for anyone in general. I am a candle FREAK! The best candle I have found is by Swan Creek. You can find them in tons of places, stores, internet, etc. I buy mine in bulk from a girl on the internet and get a great deal. They are 20 times better than Yankee (which aren't that great anyway) So, if you find them get the gingerbread or hazlenut. I was the cookie mom a while back for our girl scout troop and every single person that came into the house commented on it (in a good way) So anyway, just wanted to throw in some of my candle expertise! I'm so sad. Right now I am burning every candle in the house just so I can buy more and not feel bad about it! Yeah, I know, sad. And don't get me started on my wind chimes:)

Thanks so much for that heads-up, girl!! And for the record I love both of those scents. I'm a candle freak too! Well, anything that provides a scent. I had an insane addiction to Febreeze at one point. I even sprayed the cat with it

Right now I have 5 candles burning. The house smells like someone barfed flowers and coffee

I love scented candles. I have to smell the Yankee candles everytime I go to Cracker Barrel or Burke's. The best candles I have ever had were yankee or Mia Bella. Just a little too pricey for me though.

Miki, you should see me in the Yankee store  I think I smell every candle twice before making a decision...and then end up leaving with the first one I smelled  Hubby hates it!

I'll find the link when I get to work in the morning. My entire life is on that computer! If they were to fire me I would have to hire someone to go break into the place and get me that computer.

Not that anyone nagged you about it in this thread of a pm of course
