An interesting coincidence

On 6-11 I entered the Black Diamond Mastercard sweeps. Prior to entering, I was spammed 2 or 3 times aday. After entering, I was spammed 102 times in 1 day, and a total of 450+ in 5 days with most being financial scams.

This is the first time this has happened to me since I started entering sweeps 2 or 3 years ago.

You might want to use caution on entering sweeps from these guys.

 I had a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach when entering that one. Sure enough spam, spam spam almost immediately when clicking enter.. Like you I would bet my last dollar that it came from them. The pitfalls of sweeping.

I think most of us have a separate email addy for sweeps, but that doesn't mean you don't have to check your spam folder for potential wins. They sometimes wind up in there. I can't remember if I entered this one or not, but I too very suddenly started receiving large amounts of spam after entering my contests a week or 2 ago.

Its important to make sure you set up a extra inbox for this reason.

I didn't enter this one, but if you entered one of the Mike G sweeps, that could be the culprit ! I entered that one and now get 100+ emails a day.

With the amount of spam I get on a daily basis its hard sometimes to determine where the spam may be coming from. I use www.siteadvisor.com, just plug in the url and see if they have reports against them or if Mcafee themselves believe they are a spammer. The reverse of this is blocking too much email and not seeing the email winning notifications. When we run our own sweepstakes sometimes its takes us 2 or 3 rounds of selecting winners because people don't respond to our winner notification email. ( The problem most likely due to spam filters ) . I've had the best luck with using Yahoo email for my sweepstakes email. I have to check it a few times a day but they seem to block the "real" spam the best. Good Luck in Spam Land. :)
