What an ending...congrats to David Cook. Congrats also to my David Archuleta, the little Mormon cutie from Utah. They both have promising careers ahead.

I must say, however, that this final AI episode was way too long...omg! I did enjoy seeing ZZ Top, George Michaels, and Nash (from Cosby Stills & Nash). Oh, the werewolf herself (as part of the top 12) was there, singing in her raspy Janice Joplin voice. I don't think she ever smiled the entire two hours...nothing but those painted, pursed lips. She looks like some demonic creature from a B-grade horror movie... :crazytongue: I also got to see The Joshua Brothers for the first time. I'd only seen the name in print before tonight. Another new group for me was Republic One...where David Archuleta sang. He fit in well...the group sounded good.

sounds interesting. maybe I should have watched. :laughing: I watched the last five minutes. I did that with every result show. I cant get into all the singing and dancing around that they have to do. Is like watching a musical. no thanks. really, really cheesy.

I think Amanda is just uncomfortable up there with that kind of stuff. She probably hates doing it. I have to say though I think this was the best season of AI ever. I normally hate the sing the winner sings at the end but I kinda liked David's. Should be interesting to see what both David's do.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Popular "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta has signed a record deal and is expected to release an album later this year, his new producers at 19 Recordings/Jive Records said on Thursday.

With a record deal in hand, 17-year-old crooner Archuleta joins past "Idol" also-rans such as Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Clay Aiken who have leveraged their stardom on hit television show "Idol" into record, film and Broadway fame.

I don't think I will be as thrilled this year. The new judge did say there was a bumper crop of good male contestants this year though so the war may be on... :laughing:
