Am I doing something wrong?

I'm constantly reading in the forums how everyone is winning major sweeps, like tv's, xbox 360's, nintendo sweepstakes wii's, etc . I've been in such a dry spell lately....and over the last year and half of sweeping my biggest prize I won was only worth $100.00

Are these people that are winning all the time, do they have tricks that work the system that I don't know about. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks.

no tricks. You just have to enter, enter and enter some more. you need to enter a lot to win a lot.

Are you using Robo? do you enter a lot of sweeps?

just be persistent and the wins will come.

You're not doing anything wrong. My first year in sweeping, I entered far less than I do now and won a lot! I won an LCD TV, an xbox, large gift cards... It was win win win. My second year was the year of the Ipod. I won 5. My third year was slow but had a few great wins. Last year,    Huge dry spell. I hit a brick wall. I had one large win and very few small ones. 2009 has been a little better starting off, but still nothing too big.

Patience and Persistence. Take a short break to recharge yourself.

Wishing you much luck!

I enter alot also. Been sweeping around 10 mos & have won some really nice prizes but nothing over $750 yet. Lots of Ipods (4), a video camera, a Wii, Shaw rug, gas cards, GC's, movie tickets, golf clubs, autographed football, videos, etc... My family had a ball at Christmas. Enter consistently & don't give up. I do believe if you enter you will win eventually...hang in there! We're rooting for you.

Don't give up. The first year I started I didn't win anything much, just a few small IW.
Then in Feb of the next year I got a call saying I had won a 7 night hotel stay at any Weston hotel in the world.
Same thing happened after that, nothing till in Dec and I won an Xbox.
Last year was better but I started entering more and even entered my husband when it was a one per person sweep.
If you have kids, enter them in the kids sweeps.
Try the websites of you local TV and Radio stations. Some of them have one per person contests and since there local your chances are better.
Enter the blog contests for items you want. Sometimes you dont have to say anything more than "Enter Me Please".
Try different times of day on the instant wins. It doesn't have to be a huge time difference (like 5am or 5pm) Even a 2min difference can sometimes help.
Look for a Sweepstakes club in your area or start one. I go to one here once a month and we draw names for $1 scratch off tickets and stamps. Its not much but even small wins feel good when you're in a dry spell.
Hope this helps. Sending some Good Luck "Monkey Dust" your way. :sunny:

Ah, but you don't see the hundreds/thousands of us who enter TONS of sweeps, and NOT win from them - can you imagine the mess if we posted on every single one of those??? :crazytongue:

Case in point - I've been entering 250+ sweeps every day {practically - lately I miss a day or so a week} since Feb 2004, and though I've had some truly awesome wins, I LOSE waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I win!!!

As many times as I post this, it's still true {apologies to wolfie :laughing:}

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize  - and be positive you will win.

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!! I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!! :headbang:

I win most of my prizes off of Instant Wins. I won two T.V's off of them. I only win small items off of regular sweeps. GOOD LUCK!!! :)

I've been doing this for about 3 years and have not won anything major. Talk about frustration - However my sister has the Midas touch.
