I won a prize worth about $100 from a listing here. It was a charity in another state. I'll leave it nameless because if it is legit, I don't want to harm a charity. The giveaway stated it was open worldwide. It was run by King Sumo giveaways for the charity. I got the email and it asked me to email or call them to either pick up the prize or pay for shipping. Of course, I started looking it up. Found the charity, very small and local. Read the rules and nothing was said about paying shipping. They also posted my email in their social media announcement and my email had a typo in it. I found the King Sumo page listing the three winners and my name/email was NOT one of them. All too sketch. I emailed and declined. They emailed back saying the other two people didn't have a problem paying shipping. OK, my loss then.
Turned down prize because they asked for shipping.

I entered a FB sweepstakes that was listed here, offering a free 3-day/2-night getaway. I received a message about an hour ago stating the original winner opted out, and I was the second-chance winner. However, you had to pay $60 or more in agency fees, a fee to "unlock" the voucher, and taxes. I declined!
Sounds like a scam to me. Sorry that happened to you.
We do our best to screen all these giveaways but for some until you actually go through the redemption process it's hard to tell which ones are quality. On other sweeps sites the site owners enter and win many prizes from their own listed giveaways. We don't do that because we believe the prizes belong to our members only. I hope you understand the rationalization. Thank you for the feedback and we'll be on the lookout for any listings that match that description type going forward.
