Did I miss it?

I missed a phone call by about 10 minutes (my mom answered and spoke with the caller) and she was told that he would call back in 30 minutes and that it was about winning a sweepstakes. My mom didn't think to ask what it was or if I could call them back (bummer) - I didn't get another call today - do you think I just completely missed out?? I know that they aren't required to try multiple times to reach you, just curious if anyone else has been in this spot. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Couldn't see a reply button - we don't have caller ID (we have just a basic landline since we use our cells more).

You say you've had no other calls today. I believe dialing *69 will have a robot tell you the last number to call. There's a small fee but may be worth it here.
Good luck I hope it works out for you :)

Unfortunately my mom called the house from her cell this afternoon after she left - I wish I had remembered *69 from the pre-ID days! I also really expected them to call back :(

Scour your emails j92bm - some sponsors do both the call and an email.

That said? There are some telemarketers that will reference that you entered a sweepstakes, and if you aren't paying complete attention, like hearing who the sponsor is/what sweepstakes it was from, it's easy to think you won when you really didn't. :nono:

Saying they would call back isn't definitive either way - but I do hope they just got busy and forgot and will call back soon!

If it was me? I'd think the worst, hope for the best, and that way I wouldn't be *too* disappointed if it wasn't a winning call! :crazytongue:

:headbang: Yep, I agree. Several times I have gotten calls when I wasn't home, but my hubby answered. Of course, he doesn't pay too much attention to what they say and usually it will be a telemarketer saying they are calling to talk to me about a sweepstakes that I entered. When it is someone calling to inform me about winning they have always left a phone number for me to return the call.

Good advice. I did double check my email and definitely did not receive anything. It definitely could have been a telemarketer although I get very few of those calls (I can't screen them). But I agree, I am going to think it was a telemarketer to make myself feel better. I have only been called one other time for a win (and that was my only notification) and I was home to take the call, I was wondering what other people's experiences are with a phone notification that they missed. I may check with the phone company to see if I can get the number just to satisfy my curiosity!

thanks everyone, I'll post again if I get a call on Monday.

Pull up your phone account on line and check "call details" or similar wording. You should be able to find every number that has called you or that you have called listed there. Long before we had cell phones, this was how I tracked who my kids talked to and how long or how often they talked (and I still do it now with my adult children who are on our cell phone account).
