Prayer Of The Day

 Thank you, Tobby for your prayers of the day since Cindy has been away. The one today was especially touching to me as I was not able to see my daughter and my precious grandson this year at Christmas. Her son was born on Christmas day three years ago and was the best Christmas present I ever received...and YES I was feeling lonely this year. Your prayer today was very uplifting and made my day much brighter...Thank you!

I have to agree that Tobby's posts have been very uplifting, especially today! I always feel a little down around this time a year without family around, but God always helps me get thru it! Thanks Tobby!

Thank you so much my friend for keeping the prayers going while I was away. I know everyone reading them was blessed. You are certainly welcome to post here any time. Rather I am here or not.

Wow what a trip. Had a great time with family with all the snow but the return trip was very stressful. We got stuck in the bad weather at Wichita Falls Texas. The roads were all ice and we had to drive 3 hours on bad roads to only travel 30 miles. This was part of the Oklahoma City blizzard. But God was with us and even though I was so stressed when we would slide on the road I still thank God because I had to put my trust in him to protect us. He will be with us no matter what and I know that the reason he had us stop last night at a hotel was because all roads were closed about an hour after we found a room. There were multiple accidents and all hotels were full BUT GOD!!!

He can be with us in any storm and we need to learn to trust him. I am so glad to be home after being on the road for 2 12 hour days.

I'm so glad you all had a MERRY CHRISTMAS and even though it can be very lonely we are never alone GOD BLESS.

Glad you are home safe cin, really missed you. And now I pass the torch back to you. lol. and thank you everyone for the kind words. I also am somewhat lonely at Christmas time, so yesterdays post was something I have to remind myself of sometimes and it is always a comfort to remember God is with us always.

As we come to the end of another year let us all look back and think of the many ways God has been with us throughout the year. He was always there and he was watching over you like a shepherd over his flock. He walked beside you every minute of every day and he carried you when you could not go any further. Each of us has a story to tell how Christ touched our lives. Let's rejoice in knowing he is our Jehova Jirah our provider.

Reflecting on the past I have made many mistakes in my life but because of those mistakes I have become a better Christian. God allowed me to make those mistakes because he knew I would run to him. So let's forget the past and the mistakes and let's press on toward the high calling and the future. If mistakes bring us ...closer to God then I have no regrets. God bless everyone.

Being angry is not what we as Christians should feel for anyone. It comes from satan and if we let it build up inside then we are giving him exactly what he wants. Let go of any anger inside you and rebuke the devil. He will only destroy you if he gets the chance. Repent and be forgiven. Replace anger with blessings for others and you in turn will be blessed.

As we enter a new year let's put the past behind us and look to the future. If you don't like where your future is headed change it. No one has to be stuck with their life being not what they want and if someone says they can't change that's just not true. We can do all things with Christ. Let's do all things holding tightly to him.

Looking back over the last 10 years I believe things have become worse and if we read the Bible we know they will become much worse before they get better. But knowing and following Christ will give you peace to face what's coming because we know how it all ends. Let's end this year and enter the new one with hope in our hearts knowing Christ will soon return.

First prayer of the new year. I look forward to a deeper relationship with Christ and if that means I will be tested more then I welcome it. I can do all things with Jesus and there is no time to waste. If you are not saved then search your heart and seek him. He is seeking you. Be blessed and be a blessing.

A beautiful day here and I have a beautiful life. But none of it is by my making. It is all a gift from my heavenly Father.I could loose all the material things and I would still have that beautiful life. Find the beauty in your life and let it shine all around you.

I'm starting this new year with a positive attitude. Positive that God is in control. Positive that I will seek his face. Positive that I am going to heaven some day soon. Let's all be positive about what really matters. GOD CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Thank you tobbymac I'm so glad they can be uplifting for others and I know I love reading anything that has to do with my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. In every way I want to be like him but I just keep missing the mark. The great thing is that I have the desire to keep trying Amen. Bless my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I pray that we all have a healthy year. Let's take care of ourselves as best we can and work on a total body makeover. Mind , body , spirit. It's important to keep the body we've been given in good shape. This is the temple of God so let's love this temple and be good to it.

James 3
1NOT MANY [of you] should become teachers ([a]self-constituted censors and reprovers of others), my brethren, for you know that we [teachers] will be judged by a higher standard and with greater severity [than other people; thus we assume the greater accountability and the more condemnation].
2For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature.

3If we set bits in the horses' mouths to make them obey us, we can turn their whole bodies about.

4Likewise, look at the ships: though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the helmsman determines.

5Even so the tongue is a little member, and it can boast of great things. See how much wood or how great a forest a tiny spark can set ablaze!

6And the tongue is a fire. [The tongue is a] world of wickedness set among our members, contaminating and depraving the whole body and setting on fire the wheel of birth (the cycle of man's nature), being itself ignited by hell (Gehenna).

7For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea animal, can be tamed and has been tamed by human genius (nature).

8But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full of deadly poison.

9With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God's likeness!

10Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so.

11Does a fountain send forth [simultaneously] from the same opening fresh water and bitter?

12Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine figs? Neither can a salt spring furnish fresh water.

13Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom.

14But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth.

15This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal).

16For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.

17But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).

18And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God's will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].

You should read the book of James and study it. It's full of wisdom.

Ephesians 2
1AND YOU [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins
2In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God].

3Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God's] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind.

4But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,

5Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved ([a]delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation).

6And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

7He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.

8For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved ([c]delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

9Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]

10For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), [d]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

11Therefore, remember that at one time you were Gentiles (heathens) in the flesh, called Uncircumcision by those who called themselves Circumcision, [itself a [e]mere mark] in the flesh made by human hands.

12[Remember] that you were at that time separated (living apart) from Christ [excluded from all part in Him], utterly estranged and outlawed from the rights of Israel as a nation, and strangers with no share in the sacred compacts of the [Messianic] promise [with no knowledge of or right in God's agreements, His covenants]. And you had no hope (no promise); you were in the world without God.

13But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near.

14For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us,

15By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace.

16And [He designed] to reconcile to God both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of His cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end.

17And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near.(A)

18For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him].

19Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God's own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God's [own] household.

20You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone.

21In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to rise (grow, increase) into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord].

22In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit.

There are many different beliefs in the world and they all believe their way of thinking is the right way. But there is only one way and he will set you free. John 14:6: Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." The only real and true church is the church that believes that salvation only comes through Jesus. Be careful of false teachings.

Psalm 91
1HE WHO [a]dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
2I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

3For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

4[Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

5You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

6Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

7A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

8Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.

9Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,(A)

10There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

11For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

12They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.(B)

13You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.(C)

14Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness--trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

15He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

I could talk about Jesus all the time. When I do I will get those God bumps and that let's me know the Holy Spirit is around. In everything I do I place Christ in the middle. It's so wonderful to know him as a friend. Knowing him is not just a feeling but faith in how big he really is. Let's talk about our Lord and Savior today and every day.
