has encountered a problem and needs to close.

This happens when I click on the red x box to close a window.
Only happens on sweepstakes sites though. So, I can't get it
figured out. Shuts IE off completely and I have to start all over.

Will dansbrat's RUN ERROR post be the same thing I'm referring to?

When you get the message, you need to click on "click here" in the message for the details. That message can pop up for numerous errors, so you need to know which one(s) first before it can be addressed.

I went and looked, which was no problem because of the goings on, but it took
me to the microsoft site and there was somekind of test done and it suggested
that I download things for software and hardware. One of them will take 16 hours
wow!! Don't know if I want to do that one or not it was in the software dept.

I did some of them that were shorter downloads and now I can at least close a
window with Ctrl+W and it seems to be working but not yet by clicking in the
red x window at the top of the screen.

Thanks for helping me I do appreciate you and your knowledge! Just kind of like

Goodness, what was that? How far behind are you on your microsoft updates, a couple of centuries
Was that the full disc defrag?

I have been having the same problems, using ver. 7 due to ver. 8 conflict w/ McAfee.

What I have figured out is if you have multiple windows open and you shut some down right before you change pages on SA it causes a crash. So now I dont close anything or wait a sec or two after I close before I change pages and this solved my problem.

Thank you for sharing this.:sunny: We were also having unexplained crashes before updating to IE8 (and one big explained crash ). I'm glad your problems have resolved or become manageable :)
