Does anyone remember this? It was added a little while ago (January) It says to submit a before picture in a standing position holding a newspaper. How weird is that? Anyone know why? Just curious.

LOL

A true low in the history of cheesy "sweeps"!

.... and the herd keeps entering them! :crazytongue:

I've seen this company on freebie listings too. It does sound like a big scam to me. Their product is probably just a bottle of fiber! Hey, you can lose maybe a couple pounds if you flush out your digestive system. Still don't get the whole picture with a newspaper thing. Weird people.

Holding a newspaper gives them a proportionate idea of how overweight a person is, because it's hard to tell from a picture the approximate height and width of a person without something to compare it to.

:sunny: Our local just switched to a longer narrower paper, so I would look wider next to the new paper than the old one! So not all newspapers are the same size.

I've seen on few occasions sweeps like this. They usually ask the entrant to hold the newspaper front cover forward in front of them in the picture. This way, they can check the dimensions that actual paper. I'm not familiar with this sweepstakes, so I don't know if that was a requirement; but most newspapers either folded or long paper like the New York Post are usually about the same size.

They would get a kick out of my local newspaper. I live in a small rural town and our newspaper is a little smaller than a typical magazine and only has about 15 pages. lol!

Then, they probably figure you wouldn't have internet access to even enter!

I think I may have lived there once!

I thought maybe they would want the date on the newspaper, for the before and after pics? Like in the movies, for a ransom request, when they have the hostage holding a newspaper?
